I am like everyone else, I adore our Sirsha from the Block, but shee needs mainstream exposure.
Does she? It hasn't stopped her from getting Oscar noms. Unless she was losing roles to other actresses I don't see a reason to change course

I like the poster, also lol @ all that photoshop for the Tom one

A&D is legit awesome. I really enjoy the movies and books, really looking forward to Inferno. Still salty they skipped Lost Symbol, though.
The Lost Symbol is my least favorite, but I would totally still watch a movie about it. But I think that if they are going to try to generate interest in this franchise again Inferno is a better choice

I thought they were going for a date movie kind of audience

Agree

Same. I didn't care for the book, but marketing got to me

The posters are fantastic. I like the marketing for this a lot, I probably will like it more than the actual film.

Kick Ass 3 ?
I rather watch that

I don't like either Radiohead or Sam Smith's song I watched this today, I actually liked it more than
Home AloneSkyfall, plot holes and everything. How much did Waltz charged to do his shtick here and do 4 scenes? I wanna know. Also all the octopus made me think of Octopussy jsyk

I liked the first half, but then it goes downhill. JLaw is once again too young for the role, but she isn't awful. And well overall this review describes my feeling about Joy
QuoteI was curious to see how Russell would handle a female-focused story with themes of friendship, sisterhood, motherhood, and gender politics. The short answer is: like an asshole. (x)

This is such a great film. The critic's agendas are showing.
JLaw and DOR did benefit from the critic's agenda in the past with American Hustle...now it's about to bite them I guess

I hope this movie isn't as shitting awful as BIRDMAN.
It has some pacing problems, but it's not the snoozefest Birdman was

No JLaw at the SAGs...

To me, Ronan is like Kidman before her: gorgeous, talented, and intriguing, yet oddly cold and distant. Meanwhile, J. Lawrence and S. Bullock are warm and approachable. Well, at least the personas they present are warm and approachable, Maybe that's why the latter two have had so many hit films while the former two have not been able to fully turn their technical talents into full-fledged box office clout.
Funny you made this comparison, I think of Lawrence and Bullock as movie stars, but Ronan and Kidman I would think of as real actresses.
Anyway, I watched this last night and its such a beautiful movie. Ronan is fantastic and its already on her way to having a Cate Blanchett/Meryl Streep type of career. I liked Emory Cohen in The Place Beyond the Pines, and he was really good in this too, I hope he gets more roles

I'm so gonna nostalgia-watch this with my dad :)

True not everyone does, but Ronan I think does want some level of franchise/blockbuster success. Otherwise she wouldn't keep trying for these parts and she expressed disappointment over not getting the SW role. And she did The Host for gods sake.
To be fair The Host was a very challenging role, playing the character inside the character, but it completely backfired commercially and critically (tho I remember she got pretty good reviews)
I don't think she was really offered/auditioned Scarlett Witch, it seemed more like shenanigans from blogs online.

So excited
Tho I have to say in terms of acting, it seems more of Leo screaming as usual

I'm here for Romola Garai and Anne Marie Duff. Two very underrated actresses who won't get the spotlight. Anne Marie is married to James McAvoy. She's an amazing actress.
Ann Marie's Elizabeth I miniseries is one of my favorites (the score is awesome as well)

Ronan is going to get her 2nd oscar nom if she plays her cards well
-
I need this movie in my eyeballs.
I didn't think much of Roons after Dragon Tattoo, but so far I've liked most of her movie choices (minus Pan I guess )

I've been living under a rock, I didn't realize Lea and Monica were in this.

There's a Vanessa Redgrave version which is a lot more recent from Mary's POV.
