  1. $43 million is pretty respectable. The Avengers was the highest grossing movie last year and IM3 increased 1.5-2 times its gross this year; so I think Vietnam BO in 2013 should see a good increase overall too.The market is growing. The problem is cinemas only exist in cities and urban areas and atm, is still somewhat a luxurious kind of entertainment.

Well, we asians love love love the Avengers ;)

  2. A bit underwhelming in Asia. Chance for 500m is very small. I wouldnot even think about it before I see 400m OS is done.

Yeah, i can't see it being popular in Asia, it just doesn't have the appeal of Harry Potter series and not as dumb as Twilight series so there's no reason to see it on theaters, maybe just wait for its DVD release or download it

  3. please don't blame Tom for this! He is the only good thing that came out of this movie! even the critics say so, this movie was alive only when Hiddleston was on screen! Marvel made a boring movie about Jane Foster and I don't see why it's Tom's fault! after comic con they tried to save it and filmed more scenes with Tom, but they couldn't change the storyline and it is still a movie about Foster! Also , Marvel lied in their advertising, pretending that Tom will be the center of this movie and instead we got Jane, Darcy and the intern!

  4. Yeah I hope it will have that effect but I'm afraid it might have the opposite effect where people don't want to relive those revolutionary experiences or are too overexposed and sick about hearing about the revolts.

I think US and Europe are the only one who can fantasize about having revolutionary experiences,

i agree with you about people being sick of hearing revolts, i mean when you see it everyday on tv for free, it's just not special anymore, besides, based on trailer, CF revolution seems rather tame compared to real revolts. In 1998, there was this huge revolt in my country, people are murdered, girls were raped, houses and malls were burned, chaos everywhere. ..

So probably people from egypt and other nations are like 'Aww Hollywood tries to teach us how to revolt'.

  5. i guess they never see south east asia as potential market at all, i mean THG couldn't even compete with Raid Redemption here.

People here were excited for Avengers, Iron Man3, Hobbit, FF6, Despicable me2, Harry Potter, Twilight, those films were huge. Even Now You See Me, Conjuring and Insidous are more popular than THG. I never saw people in my real life that are actually excited and can't wait to watch CF. No hype at all.

so i don't know, maybe they just don't bother to promote it here ...
