  1. I feel that the film could have weak legs. WOM looks like it will be weak with those reviews, plus Clooney isn't a guaranteed draw. I mean Gravity's success was due to stellar reviews and I think Bullock got more buzz from it. I feel like Britt and Raffey are going to be the main factor in its strong WOM rather than Clooney. If Britt can reach J-Law popularity (unlikely), or at least Margot Robbie/Dakota Johnson-level buzz, then the film could be remembered as hers rather than Clooney's. But right now, I don't feel much more hype for her than I did for Taron Egerton with Kingsman.

It's really lucky to have a PG rating. If this was PG-13, I guarantee this would be massacred by San Andreas next week.

  2. Benchmarks for PP2 to pass

-$113M - NATM 3 (Career high for Rebel Wilson)

    -$120M - Seabiscuit (Non-THG live-action high for Elizabeth Banks)

-$128M - Into the Woods (Non-Twilight high for Anna Kendrick)

-$171M - True Grit (Career high for Hailee Steinfeld)

    -$188M - Grease (All-time record for live-action musical)

    -$191M - 22 Jump Street (All-time record for live-action college movie)

-$218M - Ted (All-time record for directorial debut)

    -$219M - Alvin 2 (All-time record for female director)

  3. Possible records for PP2 to break:

-Biggest opening by a female director (50 Shades of Grey) - Unlikely but could take 2nd place ahead of Twilight

-Biggest opening directed by an actor (American Sniper) - Not happening

-Highest grossing movie directed by an actor (Passion of the Christ) - Not happening

-Highest grossing movie directed by a female (Alvin 2)

-Highest grossing movie directed by an actress (Unbroken?)

    -Highest grossing musical (Grease)

-Biggest opening for a musical (HSM 3)

Plus it'll probably be the highest grossing movie in all its' stars careers save for Banks. Records are Into the Woods for Kendrick, NATM3 for Rebel, and True Grit for Steinfeld.
