Reagan isn't a documentary, it's so much...more:
Dennis Quaid! Jon Voight! Penelope Ann Miller! That '80s Bond villain who also directed My Son Hunter! This started filming in September 2020, lol.
I'm just amazed they not only picked Dennis Quaid, a man who literally looks nothing like Ronald Reagan, but also that guy from Wizards of Waverly Place to look like young Ronald Reagan. Who doesn't look like Ronald Reagan or even Dennis Quaid. Great casting all around!

Only the twelfth film to ever hit 1B OS. Avatar 3 is practically locked for that, though maybe Zootopia 2 could hit it before then.

I mean it's not very easy for a franchise that's been around since the 70s to get a younger audience unless you totally reboot everything a la James Bond or, to an extent, Planet of the Apes. And even then, Rise of the Apes still grossed less than the Burton film domestically despite a decade of inflation. It also doesn't help that Romulus is coming off a franchise that has dealt with poorly-received projects that span 3 decades. I think Romulus getting close to Prometheus is still commendable, and I can see a scenario where, like with the Apes series or the Craig Bonds, a sequel can increase upon its predecessor thanks to goodwill from old and new fans.

Does rumulus miss $100m dom?
Could, but unlikely. Following Blue Beetle with a 16M second weekend gives us 115M. Knocking a few million to account for Beetlejuice, I can still see something like 105M.

QuoteSATURDAY AM: Refresh for updates Blame the lack of want-to-see fare as well as kids returning to school, but this penultimate weekend of summer is coming in at $93.4M for all movies, -33% from last weekend. That’s the third lowest weekend of this summer after the first weekend of June/post Memorial Day frame ($66.3M) and the first weekend of May ($73.9M). Compared to the same weekend a year ago when Sony’s Gran Turismo led the box office, this Friday-Sunday is +3%.
Disney is seeing their MCU title Deadpool & Wolverine take its fourth weekend at No. 1 (though not in a row) with $17.8M (-41%), but in its fifth weekend.
Disney/20th Century Studios Alien: Romulus isn’t far behind in second with $16M, -61%, which is a much better hold and second frame than the previous 2017 installment, Alien: Covenant ($10.6M, -71%).
The Ryan Reynolds-Hugh Jackman is easily triumphing over new entries Blink Twice ($7.1M opening), the disastrous $50M reboot of The Crowvia Lionsgate $4.5M-$5M, and Sony AFFIRM’s $5M Kendrick Brothers movie The Forge with an estimated $6.1M.

So we don't even have an update for alien or Deadpool and it's 6:00 a.m. here on the east coast. I even asked Charlie on Twitter if he could give me anything about those two movies and he didn't respond to me. He usually does but I guess this weekend means nothing LOL
Wanna talk about cute boys while we wait?

Well Paramount needs to mufasa and get that trailer out sooner. Am I right?

A bit of a steeper drop than I anticipated on Aliens, I thought it would hold a bit better and make around 2.75 or so, but Deadpool is right around where I expected it to be, good hold.
