Nice opening in India, could have been a bit more if not for the earthquake in the northern part of the country.

Could had been a bit more in India if FF7 didn't explode or if AOU had been dubbed a bit more nicely, still pretty decent opening.

I think my friends are all of the opinion that AOU was better than the first. I'm still digesting. May need a second screening.

Well, its human tendency to make comparisons(and find flaws), at the end of the day its your opinion and not someone else's who has seen more movies or is a professional( = critics), yes some may like it and others may not, but one should not let them influence his/her opinion, here in my country, TASM2 was pretty much liked, people didn't think it was terrible, so its your brain that makes you go "Hulk didn't do the smashing properly like the last one", so as fellow box-officers hope for the best for this movie. :)

I don't remember the last time when two Hollywood blockbusters (with such a big fan base in India) were released so close to each other.Still teenagers (especially High school students) are excited for another blockbuster after FF7, IMO 15 million $ is a lock (even if it underperforms), 16.5 million is likely, 17 million is possible but you never know what to expect from Indian Box Office.

Well now it looks like DC19 is going to get over 4.2 billion Yen (assuming DC is good enough to get a X5 of its OW, which I guess it would be) at the end of its run, making it the highest grossing among DC movies and it is surprising how the 19th movie gets to be the highest grossing DC movie.

I had been thinking about it that.......if it was the last year's crossover (Lupin vs DC) which resulted in a little bump in DC's popularity (Movie 18 Dimensinal Sniper was very close to the crossover in terms of gross i think) or is it just the quality of DC movies maintaining their consistency or both.

No plot (unlike last year's movie) and not a crossover with another franchise (unlike DC vs Lupin).

well, u got a point there,but still i am very excited for the 19th movie to roll out.

4.06 billion yen was last year's regular movie's gross. DC vs Lupin grossed around 4.2 billion yen and that was before the VTA increase in april 2014. Honestly, I'm not convinced it will top 4 billion yen this year.

I am gonna go with Dragon Ball Z but the annual Detective Conan movies have been amazingly consistent at the box office and it can come out on top too.

I agree.With Kaito kid, A well received spin-off(Magic kaito 1412)and trailer, it should be able to out-gross DC vs Lupin (4.06 million Yen) and become the highest DC movie yet,but competition (nostalgia-driven dbz) might just slow it down a bit.
