  1. I know people are trying to act like the good copy leak of civil war just 3 days into its domestic release isn't a big deal, but come on. It's definitely affected it some, it's not the difference in it makin 500 million or 400 million or anything crazy like that, but it can't be dismissed. It definitely affected repeat views, I personally know 7 people that were planning on seeing it in theaters at least once more after opening night that ended up downloading or streaming it instead. It may not be the only factor in its run being more stunted than thought, but it's definitely a factor.

  2. Like some have said, I think the solid quality pirated copy online since Monday has affected it's box office take. Just by looking at the number of seeders/leechers and how many times it's been downloaded probably dropped its domestic future total from 470 to 420-430 million and who knows how much worldwide, it's definitely affected the China intake. With that said, it's still headed for 1.2 billion+.

Damn right I'm serious. I let the numbers speak to themselves. DCUU's first phase trajectory is ahead of MCUU. They are on the decline, DC is on the up. As of DC vs Marvel, we will see if Ss can match the success of GotG.

dccu doesnt have phases, they just threw everything at us in a panic move to try to catch up to marvel. i really wish the dccu looked like it was gonna be great for me, but it just doesnt. comparing bvs to something like thor just because it was the "2nd movie in the universe" is ridiculous. bvs is an avenger level movie and thats what it should be compared to, it freakin cost 250 million and was marketed like the event of the year, and were at a pt if were questioning if its even gonna make 400 million domestic or a billion ww? heck, they spent 225 million on man of steel (thats now much avengers cost). i dont know how anyone doesnt think bvs' trajectory isnt a financial disappointment, not a failure, but a disappointment. the mixed reaction isnt great for the future of the cinematic universe either.

  4. I know this has been beaten to death but it really truly shocks me that so many people including people here put all of their eggs in one basket when it comes to critics opinions. You read a critic's opinion and you right away assume that their opinion is going to match yours. I don't get that and I never will. Go make up your own minds.

best post of all time. i dont even visit rt anymore. one of my biggest pet peeves is sheep mentality. i dont give a single crap about any critic's opinion anymore. i will decide if i want to see a movie based on its own marketing. its kinda crazy but its affected some of my friendships, one of my best friends who i always would see movies with now basically makes all his decisions on what he sees based on rt scores, despite me bein able to point out tomns of examples of movies he likes/liked that have rotten scores. i dont even invite him to go see movies with me anymore, not even worth it. i go when i want to what i want and i always have at least 1 friend otherwise that wants to see what i see, so his loss. what a lame way to live when you allow a bunch of people you dont even know personally decide what you do. lol, rant over, but great post baumer.

  5. Terminator 2 is my favorite movie of all time. And screw it, I enjoyed genisys. It's got plot holes and some poor acting, but I walked out entertained. Liked it more than 3 and salvation easily. Not near the level I hold the first 2, but I enjoyed it and am not mad that I spent my money on it. Heck, I may see it again. Decided in the last couple years to not be so nitpicky about things, if I magnified everything wrong with anything, there isn't much I'd like in this world haha.

  6. MMA is better than this..

yeah im an mma fan, i much more enjoy the more exponential amount of strategy then with boxing. as i said, ive never been a boxing fan, and maybe i just dont understand it, but that was super boring, the whole time i was thinking mayweather isnt even doing anything, yet won the fight unanimously and seemingly comfortably? yup, just not for me.

  7. new member here, used to be on the mojo forums a bit. i know i was hoping for a new weekend record, so slight disappointment, but its also not bad. i mean compared to the first avengers, it does have more to deal with outside of movies today, it has a much lower 3d share if i remember correctly, and i dont know if anyone has mentioned it, but there has been a bootleg online since last saturday, i feel like that has to have affected it a little. that said, while still disappointing personally, i do think itd be great if it opens 195+ and 200 would be very very great still, considering nothing else outside of avengers has ever opened to even 180.
