Comparing Zootopia's gross to LHF isn't fair.
One has a much bigger potential market.

What do you mean by "only 75% full"?
Yeah, I was just going to ask this.
75% at 6:45 is pretty good.

DAMN! I thought 200 million was out of reach for Deadpool!
Not it is a virtual shoe-in.
This thing might out gross the newest X-Men film.

Look at those almost non-existent week to week declines for KFP3 and TFA. Nice!
Yeah, but a hell of a lot of good that does now for TFA!
Arrrghhhhh where were these low TFA declines back in early January? WHERE WERE THEY!?!?!?!?

So what are we looking at for a TFA final gross?
Been wondering how this film will ultimately fare.
Is it still going to be over 900 million?
-
So what are the current appraisals for TFA's final gross now that the billion dollar dream has blown up like the Republic in TFA.

Only one reason : Paul walker.
FF8 which might come out next year will not generate much buzz and it's collections will be half of what FF7 made WW.That argument doesn't make any sense to me.
Why would the Chinese give a shit about Paul Walker?
Its not like the knew the guy before the film, at all. Didn't even knew who he was. Never a big star in Asia. What? Just because some dude HAPPENS to die while a film is made, it automatically means box office gold in China? COME ON! There has to be more to it than that.
-
I hope TFA AT LEAST surpasses Furious 7's International gross.
It would be pretty lame if it couldn't reach that milestone.

It's 4th highest international total ever behind both Cameron flicks and FF7. It has performed great OS.
Yeah, that is cool!
However, it just seems ridiculous that Furious 7 could possibly stay ahead in International gross. Dude, that is kind of embarrassing.
I still cannot comprehend why Furious 7 made so much money in China. I don't see why it generated so much interest!

You're entitled to your opinion of course, but if you can't get excited about this kind of box office performance, what will it take?
May I ask what you're doing on these forums while we're at it? 'cuz I feel like I'm missing something here. What kind of box office run do you need?
I think part of the problem is that while TFA's domestic box office run has been a stunner, its international run has been very lacking compared to the domestic one. I guess one can't expect this film to be as big WW as it was domestic, but it doesn't even seem to be close sadly.
I mean people are talking about a 115 million finish in China. WTF!?!?!?!?
That is like, what? Less than 1/3 what that crap fest Furious 7, made in China.
That aint very impressive. Virtually every other major tentpole released last year (Jurassic World, Avengers 2, etc.) made like twice as much,

Only 33 million for the 4 day weekend?
I was hoping for like 40 million for the 4 day weekend. I guess that will not be happening, then?
::SIGH::
What happened to those 30% drops everyone was saying this film would have?
-
I hope SW holds well this weekend.
We keep hoping for a major drop in the weekend declines. I hope this weekend is finally it!
-
So does TFA have ANY chance of being #1 this weekend?
Seems like a REAL long shot.

Who’s Driving ‘Star Wars’ Box Office Records? Repeat Viewers

I don't buy this crap.
Sounds like a load of bull!
Must be putting this out there in an effort to friggin drive more people back to see the movie. I know plenty of people who've seen TFA. Most have only seen it once.
They claimed the same type of crap when Phantom Menace came out. It wasn't true there, either.

Adjusted for Ticket Price Inflation
$259,346,500 Adjusted for inflation, Star Wars's special edition release made $260 M
Impressive when you think about it. It was only a re-release!
That is why I am saying they should do one for this movie to get it to 1 BN.
Sure, it wont make as much as the 97 Special Edition. That film had a substantial amount of new stuff and was re-released after 2-0 years.
However, it would easily do 50 million. That would be enough for 1 billion.

Damn :S!!!!! Disney needs to do something, a Rogue One Trailer in The Force Awakens would boost a little bit.
They should be working on that Special Edition version right now!!!!

Oh yeah, I'm still wondering about this: Is there ANY chance for TFA getting serious Oscar nominations? Like Best Picture? I think it is fairly deserving of that honor. Last year was not a great year for movies and TFA is a LOT more deserving than other films likely to get a nod like Joy, Hateful Eight, or Spotlight!

Fake underlined TFA is closely mirroring TTT run, but only x3 bigger. And as the time passes, numbers are proving he was right.
TFA 42M for the 4th weekend is really close to three times TTT 14.7M 4th weekend gross. Yes, TTT dropped less, but that was only because TFA had an inflated Friday on its third weekend while TTT did not.
If this trend continues, TFA should gross x3 TTT at MLK (12.5M 4day gross). So, 37.5M is my prediction.
Domestically, TFA would do 165M more if it grosses three times what TTT grossed after its 4th weekend.
812M + 165M = 977M DOM
950M mark seems like a good bet for me
Its going to be a real shame if TFA gets that close to 1 billion and misses the mark. Disney HAS to do a Special Edition version to get it over the hump if that is the case.

Saw TFA at the Chinese today. What an amazing experience!! I've never seen a movie look that good. Anyone who can watch movies like that regularly is so spoiled lol. The laser IMAX 3D is ridiculously good but so was the sound and the massive screen. All for $1.75 more than I pay for my LieMax screen. Painful lol
Laser IMAX?
The hell is that?
I've never even heard of it. Sounds awesome.

Their stock market and currency are both tanking hard to start the year. They've been buying real estate, Bitcoin, whatever they can get their hands on.

Hard to believe. It seemed like their economy was absolutely unstoppable.

Initial read is the Chinese are very eager to get their money out of the country, how will Hollywood react is more curious? Will any politicians have a comment I wonder as well.
Eager to get their money out of the country? How do you mean?

Anyway, back on topic.
I am still shocked to hell this movie isn't making more than it is. I was just at a screening tonight at my local theater and the crowd was pretty impressive for a 630PM showing on a Monday night.
You'd think it was a weekend crowd!
