  1. i've only read page 1 so far, give the film a B for one reason you don't see dredd face ever! i watched the movie today because i heard karl urban was in it, and if i hadnt watch star trek like 3 times this past weekend i'd have no idea it was his chin

now that said apart from that the film was good, lena heady aka queen cersei was crayzayyyy, interesting drug if your house is on fire you'd probably die of burns before being able to do anything about it lolll

i love them shutting down a building of that size , and when she said call 911 totally badass i was not expecting the cavalry to be corrupted judges

    did not like the rookie

now all that said i think i had more fun watching stallone's judge dredd, i like it and watch it whenever its on tv, dredd has a backstory , however corny the cloning thing was ,it was a futuristic theme, and sure maybe the film is cheesy but it worked for me! plus his sidekick held her own better

this kind of makes me think about the new spiderman film , they started it out as something more then 30mn in they drop that and it turns into a generic spiderman episode

same thing here the film is named dredd but its not about him , they could have called it "the taking of pine trees block", the psychic girl looks like she'll reveal something about him but no then its just another day in the deep end!

all things considered very good film if you don't go in expecting to know more about dredd than its the name on his tag, oh and that he's worth a million credit to take down by corrupt judges

if they make a sequel hope they fixed these little details if they want the masses to like it more

Man you really got some big points here...

  2. Cyber

I think that I should begin my review by saying something controversial, an opinion that I've voiced before. I did not like Social Network, and Cyber while it has some flaws of its own is in some ways what I kinda hoped Social Network could've been. Soderbergh gives an expertly directed, and sharply scripted movie that is both light, and serious at the same time. It succeeds because it doesn't try to be too intellectual or take itself too seriously. It takes what the subject matter is and construes it as it is, and in my opinion as it should be.

The cast is perfect for their roles and I would highly suggest Spaghetti campaing Hoult for lead actor if he is not already doing so. He captures the essence of Thomas perfectly from the slightly cocky personality to the "inner nerd". The rest of the cast was also fairly terrific and I could not see anyone else getting cast in their places.

Lastly, I'd like to address some issues others have written about. The issue about Cyber never transcending its schema and the set parameters of its plot, I digress. There's a particularly powerful scene in The King's Speech where Lionel's sitting on St.Edward's Chair and Bertie explodes at him after he asks Bertie, "And Why should I listen to you?" Bertie responds, "Because I have a voice!" Lionel's response is what I think this movie is about, and it tells it pretty damn well. Lionel responded quietly, "Yes. You Do."

Secondly, I do agree that at certain times the plot does seem to be lacking a little in a 3rd dimension of depth, and the movie simply asks us to suspend our reality and just believe. While the movie could've improved had the plot been just a little more developed, the movie did not ask us to suspend our reality too much and was perfectly alright. All-in-all very good, and extremely satisfying.

    9.5/10

I will also give it 9.5 out of 10
