Yikes at the Solo preview number.
Everything about the movie just hasn't been a good idea. On top of the fact that no one wanted a Han Solo origin film, nor a film with a Han Solo not played by Ford, it's coming right off the heels of the divisive TLJ which (though I loved it) turned a lot of people off. Releasing a film like Solo so soon after it isn't turning them around.
Thank God there's a 1 year+ break between now and Episode 9 so they can get their shit together at Lucasfilms. A bunch of origin stories is not what people want.

Emma Watson is this generation's Harrison Ford. There. I said it.

After the right wing nuts bashed Avatar, neo nazis bashed TFA and RO and the fundies attacked the gayness of BatB, I'm more confident than ever that these people have zero impact on box office.
If anything pissing them off improves your chances of making the all-time top ten DOM list.
Maybe.
But I think the alt-right and their "boycotting" doesn't have the same effect as the more liberal crowd calling something out for being potentially racist and misrepresenting a culture does.

imo they really need to get the casting right for Aladdin, among other things. I can easily see it facing backlash for whitewashing, culture appropriation, etc.

So SLOP will beat IO's OW? Can't help but feel happy about that. I at least somewhat enjoyed Pets, while I found IO horribly mediocre and underwhelming.

I loved the comments and references on society during Zootopia. It elevated it beyond just another kids cartoon.
I've had to start watching cartoon films recently because my boyfriend likes them.
I had to go and see Minions (horrendous) and Inside Out (boring) last year. Zootopia was far better. Zootopia was miles better than The Jungle Book too, which bored me.
Secret Life of Pets will explode this summer, that trailer gets laughs from adult audiences nevermind just the target children.
Yeah, I agree with this. Inside Out really disappointed me (and so did Big Hero 6, while we're at it) so I was half-expecting Zootopia to do the same. I was very happy without how much I ended up enjoying it. I might even call it my favourite of Disney's Revival Era so far (replacing Tangled) but I'll watch it a few more times before I do. I'm glad it's done and is doing so well.

Where? I haven't seen any in ages. It's all Cap, Cap, Cap now.
Just last night at the Billboard Music Awards, Pink sang that song she did for its soundtrack with an Alice-themed performance, and it felt like there was an ad for it every commercial break.

Ugh, I hope Fantastic Beasts is good. I hated the direction Yates went in with his HP films, and Rowling's writing (or rather storytelling) really fell off, judging from the later HP books and her non-HP books. I'm just hoping that now that he's making a movie not based on any of the books, and since this is a different avenue of writing for her, they can pull it off. But I'm really, really skeptical right now.
But yeah, no idea how it'll perform. The HP fandom is still there and big, but it definitely petered out a bit, and I'm not sure if a trilogy about Newt Scamander set decades before HP is what everyone really wanted next in the universe.
More on topic though, really want to see TJB. Wasn't expecting this response to it at all. Cinderella was solid if a little...bland? So I expected this would be somewhat similar.

I think we all have to agree that THG was a phenomenon DOM
Yup, its decline was phenomenal as well.

You mean Sony and Nintendo.
Nintendo is currently on the market with the biggest failure from any of the big console manufacturers since the Dreamcast. They are not "at the top" of gaming anymore.
On topic: Damn @ all of this. Can't say I'm not pleased though. I'm a huge fan of the DCU and would much rather see the movies done right than continue witnessing whatever Snyder is doing to it.

I've heard Nintendo fanboys are not happy about it, and actively refuse to watch it in theaters because Mario doesn't make an appearance. Dunno if that's the cause for this though.
