  1. LOL, too early for that and the low budget helps. But he did open this one for sure.

haha wasn't trying to compare him to Brad Pitt or anythingOnly point was that most of the advertising played the point that Radcliffe was the star, and if it opens to 20+ I could see him given a chance to open more filmsHe was EVERYWHERE for this film! (the snl/lana del Ray publicity couldn't have hurt either) So good for them for having a successful film! Shouldn't be contested for the horror genre for a little while either!
  2. Wondering if anyone would be interested in doing a film club on here?We could post a new movie on here every week, and it would give us a chance to all watch within the week and perhaps have "Guest Members" post their picks for movies that others need to seeJust a chance for some of us to share the movies we're most passionate about and have discussion with others about itThoughts?

  3. I think it depends on how you want to feel when you get out of the movie - If you want to feel synthetically inspirational - Go See Red TailsIf you want to feel like you wanna kick some ass (yet feel like you've seen this movie before) - Go see Contraband

  4. I have to agree with the negatives on Haywire, the biggest draw in their advertisements has been trying to sell it as a Soderbergh film (which sadly doesn't mean too much to too many)You'd think with stars like Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender or even Channing Tatum, they would have featured heavily in the marketing, but most of the marketing have shown Gina Carano running around "in a Soderbergh film"I hate to say it, but I'm actually thinking the film will do a sub 10 million opening and end up around 7-8 mil for the weekendThe Grey intrigues me though, I see it as being the biggest test for how well Neeson can open a movie, everyone was shocked by how well Taken did, and it seems that Neeson bought himself a "January Staple" with that movie, yet Unknown was terrible and definitely underperformedSo I do know that "Taken 2" is coming out next year, but I see "The Grey" as Neeson's "Castaway"I remember hearing critics talk about how Castaway was the biggest testament to Tom Hanks' ability to sell a movie on his own, it was the same thing with Will Smith and "I Am legend", it should make for some interesting numbers

  5. Hey guys, I was wanting to try posting my films from my backpacking trip but it turns out that internet is way too damn expensive (the rent is too damn high?) here so I read that you'll be starting year two at Christmas and that's when I'll be home. Hope that's ok?In the middle of writing now, most films have been written on Trains in Europe, europe's also given me plenty of things to want to write. I'm especially proud of my stoner zombie sex comedy. It's about two stoners who set out across a zombie infected America because they worry it's the last chance they'll ever have to get laid. But as for now, all my films will be held off until next year. Hope that's ok! I'm looking forward to getting going!!!

  10. As bad as people say it isThe CGI was terrible, but they couldn't decide if they wanted CGI'd or Makeup'd characters, which led to a very weird mixThe storyline wasn't easy to digest either, WAY too much Sci-Fi and not enough plot, it was like the script revolved around introducing characters and not the story, very little back story, and the most interesting part was the relationship between Reynold and livelyDidn't like it, a shame, because I really liked the comics

  11. I wouldn't call it comedy gold, but it actually made me laughI think this is the problem with all those Happy Madison guys, they have the maturity level of an 8 year old, but they are genuinely funny people, and even in their worst movies, they still make people laughSandler's Monkey was pretty good

  12. I'd like to introduce both my studio and my intention for my studio in my first post in hereMy Studio will be called: Foundation StudiosMy Aim for this studio will be to focus on more of the mid-range to smaller films (with occasional Blockbusters) I'd love to be known as the quirkier, smaller, based-on-novel type studios (Although I would love if they broke out every now and then :))I'm gone for the next 5 weeks (Backpacking trip through Europe) but I'd like to set some things in motion until I get back and be happily involved after thatThis sounds fun, thanks so much for including a newb like me!
