In merch avengers was not even in top 5 for disney in 15-16. The difference is so huge, I don't think even with box office money, avengers can be called top brand for disney. Mickey, SW, and princess are far too ahead in that merch money. But in 2018 it most probably will be ahead of SW and pooh to be in top 3.

Isn’t it supposed to be that people want to go see Black Panther because they see it heavily featured in the IW trailer? that sounds decently realistic.

This year, the wealth has been spread out amongst all nominees and I believe every category except for Animated Feature is up for grabs. I expect Black Panther to drop 33% this time, not 25%.
