I've not seen Robert Pattinson in anything for years now. I'm not addressing his acting here.
I'd just like to point out that variations of this comment "more gritty than pretty boy actor" were hurled at Heath Ledger.
The gasps that 10 Things I Hate About You drama teen angst actor was going to be THE JOKER did not go over well.
There was more than a bit of thinly-veiled homophobia on online forums as well, complaining about how he was going to make The Joker "all Brokeback" and similar.

Hot take: Batman Forever is an underrated film. Some very cheesy elements yes, but its well-constructed/plotted and the actors all do well with their parts. And overall, it's fun to watch.

Remember before Infinity War when the prevailing hypothesis was that 70 million was the practical daily cap, and could only be hit on a Saturday?
Now we have a Sunday over 90 million...

I really like the one-line summation from BoxOfficePro:
"Marvel Studios, mastermind Kevin Feige, the Russo brothers, and thousands of artists and fans have delivered a once-in-a-lifetime, mono-cultural epic on a global scale."

A few thoughts related to what we're seeing:
-The casting of RDJ in Iron Man is the single most significant decision in the history of modern cinema. Anyone else in that role and none of this probably ever happens.
-Iron Man is the most commercially important film of the 21st century so far. Perhaps the most creatively important as well, in terms of setting the template for what works.
-The post-credits scene from Iron Man should be put in the cultural history books. "I'm here to talk to you about the Avenger Initiative." And here we are.

At my second showing after seeing it last night. This theatre is packed for an 11pm show and every other one tonight has been sold out hours ahead of showtime in this podunk town. The parking lot was a fucking war zone. I've never seen anything remotely like this. Infinity War was subdued in comparison. I was able to walk up and get a ticket for that at 7:30 last year no problem. Today showing up here at 7:30 might have got me in the 10pm show.

If opening of Captain Marvel presage something, its the riot which Endgame gonna create internationally. Ffs Captain Marvel, having 0 character introduction to majority foreign audience is breaking Black Panther opening by 50-300% in Asian, Latin American, even European countries just because it has a small mention in Infinity War end credit.
Brace for impact as Endgame gonna do something of some other level.
3 billie WW for Endgame.
