I still don't understand why they created that reboot. The original wasn't popular or seen amazing reviews. I don't think it's a halloween classic either.
Disney can't stop themselves from trying to remake everything it seems.

The mainline Pokemon franchise is much bigger than FNAF, there is 0 doubt about.. *Detective Pikachu* in particular is not.
It's a spinoff game no one cared about very much. In fact, it failed to get good reviews on MC, despite the fact videogame critics are usually the easiest marks. And while videogame sales aren't indicative of box office obviously, sales weren't great either.
The popularity of the brand managed to push it past $400m+ WW, but I maintain that a more standard adaptation of the mainline games would have done a lot more. Obviously, that has been done many times in animated form, so I can see why the Pokemon company didn't want them to do that again, just in live-action.
The new Detective Pikachu has an even lower MC score.

Mario is returning to 4D (4DX/MX4D) for a week from Oct. 13!
how much USD will that make?

Good hold for the Nun 2. Should hit a 2.5 multi, pretty solid.

I watched Saw X last night. It was fantastic, and my favorite horror movie of the year so far! Good story, good twists, and captivating performances by the actors.

And an undeniable theatrically financial success. Though I do speculate it may take a couple more half-billion+ earners for Pixar to replenish the well of riches the company had up to 2020.
Yep but it's a great first step. And it being an original earning this much is all the more sweet.

Glad it's holding well domestically and abroad. It was a better film than the new Insidious imo.

B- to go along with 16% on RT and 29 on MC. Ouch. This is a failure by all counts.

Crazy that the franchise has only been around a decade considering it's far and away the highest grossing horror franchise of all time with over $2.2 billion

I'm surprised the VMAs and MTV are still a thing

Glad this beat Cars WW

So happy with the critical acclaim. Can't wait to see this.

Also how likely is it that this beats Insidious: The Red Door ($188m) to become the #1 horror film WW of 2023?

How does this compare to The Nun's debut weekend?

Saw the Nun 2. I thought it was a good horror film, and yes, much better than the first. It's not incredibly original or creative, but it does its job and I think any scary movie fan will enjoy it.

Taylor Swift has had one of the most consistently successful careers in history and she's still going strong. I'm excited to see this.

Finally saw this thanks to the Labor Day expansion.
I really enjoyed it. It starts off a little slow, but then it hooks you in and just gets better. Obviously gorgeous animation, but very likable characters too. And in true Pixar fashion, I got teary eyed a few times.

Saw Talk to Me. Thought it was much better than Insidious: The Red Door. 8/10.

Unpopular take: I rate HM above Barbie.
Haven't seen Barbie and probably won't in theaters, but that is an interesting take.
Plan on watching Talk to Me next weekend.

Saw FNAF in theaters yesterday and was surprised how much I actually enjoyed it. I give it a solid B.
