Transformers had 6.0 in Duoban and still managed to get like 90M over there... can it be that they hate watch movies? haha
lost in the stars has a 6.4 douban and broke out massively, in fact it seems like most hollywood films that came out recently have stronger douban scores than big hit local films

Total Presales for the upcoming days as of Thursday 00:00
Elemental - 87,659 (-17.6% LW)
MI7 - 165,821 (-49.0% LW)
Barbie - 50,351
Detective Conan - 78,997
Insidious - 29,456
Smugglers (T-5) - 82,194
Ransomed (T-12) - 18,524
Kinda meh all around, I think Elemental will drop this weekend as next weeks weekdays will take priority for some viewers as schools are off. Smugglers is now running at just 62.7% of MI7's T-5 which could be a good sign for Elemental and MI7's longevity next weekend.
looked at smugglers cgv audience reviews and its was around 91 CGV level, i don't think its gonna have great legs

Conan:
9.5 on Megabox with 103 reviews298/299 reviews on CGV are positive

if oppenheimer made more than 25m in the market i'd be shocked, big action franchises which used to print 9 figures with ease now can't do half of that, a 3 hour drama has no shot

why is barbie not getting cgv numbers?

Total Presales for the upcoming days as of Wednesday 00:00
Elemental - 68,445 (-13.8% LW)
MI7 - 139,015 (-51.1% LW)
Barbie - 45,267 (-26.1% YD)
Detective Conan (T-0) - 126,340
Insidious - 29,327 (-30.1% YD)
Smugglers (T-6) - 75,110
Ransomed (T-13) - 19,373
Elemental continues to lose pace versus last week in presales but the walkups look promising as Wednesday finished considerably higher than last week. We'll see how Conan shakes things up tomorrow.
To give some context behind Barbie and Insidious's percentage changes from yesterday, MI7 dropped just 6.2% in presales on its first Thursday so this doesn't bode well for either's IM, nor legs, though we'll have to wait and see.
Smugglers is running at 73% of MI7's T-6 checkpoint. It doesn't look like it will suck the air out of the room and drop a 3m opener but we'll have to wait and see if it ramps up in the final week.
what was elemental presale change from OD to its 2nd change

Thanks for answering!
Nice to meet you also.
Do you think that maybe Fast X has a chance of earning more money in China?
i think its run is basically over, it has no screenings anymore or maybe a handful. Will probably be the highest grossing hollywood film in china this year with only meg 2 and aquaman 2 having a shot at beating it

I suspect WB was always going to have The Color Purple in January,
Ghostbusters likely will move to 2024, mostly because it only recently wrapped.
I think a Saturday bump was always likely, it's a long movie and most people have work or school so can't really commit to going during the week.
There's some been some insane takes on the domestic thread about how this will lead to Part 2 being cancelled or altered which given the very positive reviews and WOM seems very unlikely
part 2 has already finished most of its shooting and cancelling it would be a pr disaster and cause cruise/mcq to completely walk from paramount
