  1. Drop from thursday?!??

Yeah, cause it was New Years eve yesterday... A lot of theaters are closed...

Huge drop in number of theaters for CA (10%) and Skyfall (5%) with 2 new domestic films that has over thousands of theaters.

Given that CA has dropped to 10% theater counts, approximately how much will it earn more until its entire gross lifetime?

Despite distributors' decision to cut the film by 40 minutes, the drama has beaten "Skyfall" every day since its release.

While released to lukewarm reviews around the world, Cloud Atlas has been received warmly by Chinese audiences since its Thursday release, with the film’s box office revenue in the country on track to cross the benchmark 100 million yuan ($16 million) mark mid-week.  According to figures released on Weibo’s Chinese-language portal – one of the most authoritative sources of box office information in China – Cloud Atlas had grossed $15.2 million (95 million yuan) in ticket sales by Tuesday.

The highly-anticipated film "Cloud Atlas" is poised to throw "Skyfall" from its seat at the top of China's box office when it debuts here on Thursday, online polls showed Wednesday.

"Cloud Atlas" had attracted more than 8,300 votes at mtime.com and another 1,800 at m1905.com as of Wednesday morning, making it the most anticipated film among Chinese moviegoers.

After debuting on Jan. 21 in the Chinese mainland, "Skyfall," the latest installment in the James Bond series, came out on top in the week ending Jan. 27. It raked in about 224 million yuan (about 36 million US dollars) in Chinese theaters, accounting for more than 56 percent of ticket sales that week.

The domestic cartoon hit "Pleasant Goat and the Big, Big Wolf" came in behind "Skyfall," with 63 million yuan, while "Bring Happiness Home," a domestic comedy, came in third with 43 million yuan.
