Just wanted to say that the best 2D weekend of all-time is nothing to sneeze at. If it does get 170, where does that put it at in terms of admissions vs. Avengers? It has to be pretty close. Besides the tragedy, I think the less-than-ecstatic reviews played a small part too. Adults who would not normally see a batman movie were curious about TDK because of all the 4 star reviews. This film seemed to receive a lot of 3 star reviews...not enough to make the casual moviegoer consider it a "must see". Avengers was a beast in part because of the critical adulation.

Simply anectdotal evidence, but Avengers finally got kicked out of several theaters in my area yesterday with Spider Man's debut, so I am guessing its national count will take a significant hit as well.Also wondering if Brave might be able to overtake Ted by next weekend. I am not sure Ted's legs will hold as well as most people here seem to think.

The studios are not such box office nerds (like the members on this forum) to try to push a movie to #2. If it was to close to getting the #1 spot of all-time, maybe.Avengers should shoot for 622.1 million to pass Forrest Gump for #24 all-time on the list that means something--the adjusted list.

Can someone please explain why we have no ACTUAL numbers from Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday from Warners, Sony, and Paramount? WIll they ever come? Are those three studios taking the week off?

It would be a shame if the communal film experience comes to an end. There is nothing like it.If you don't like rude people in the theaters, then see movies aimed squarely at adults. Very rarely will you have bad experiences in these movies. I never do anyway.

Peering at the Thursday numbers and saw Courageous...+105.6%. That is unusual.

Brilliant film. Not a bad moment to be found here. Pitt really is an outstanding actor.

Boring film. Boring story, boring characters. After the pure brilliance of T2 and Titanic, this was a huge letdown for me.

I saw the Obama movie a few weeks ago actually. It was well put together and interesting, and not really a hit piece. The first 2/3 basically illustrates Obama's upbringing, which is pretty interesting, regardless of party. The last third is more divisive but quite compelling, in my opinion.
