not other people. the mofo's wearing gas masks and shooting at you.Yes, because shooting at other people in a crowded theater would have totally helped things.

500 people and not a single one was carrying? batfans really take the "no guns" thing serious. 2nd amendment... where was it?

you can bet cable tv news will jack off to this for hours. and then cuddle and spoon with it for days. but i hope they aren't "intimidated by thugs like [them]" sweet old man, tdk.TDKR, just like TA, was counting on walk-ups from families. Those won't be happening anymore...
-
"you got more chance of winning the power-ball than running into him" drug-dealer, TDK.I honestly don't think it's going to have THAT much effect on the box office, I doubt people who really want to see it will be scared off. And I don't think it's going to get more people who weren't interested before to see it either.

keep your masturbatory updates somewhere else. this isn't the forum.I can't understand, there's too much police lingo and it's too much noisy. Could you keep giving us updates? Where are they? In the shopping mall?

a different catalyst maybe. but the crazy remains the same. whether it was a senator getting shot by the madman inspired by the tea party and cable television sluts or this guy shooting up a theater. something just clicks.True. But with politicians, well, at least you can see the guy's motivation. It's an authority figure. But why shoot up a theater unless you're crazy or a terrorist? This is something entirely different.

why is it shocking to people that there are abnormal people in the world. someone shot a US Senator at a town hall. in the damn head. in broad daylight. crazy is crazy.

I am happy American pie is doing bad. Giving 50 million to that crap while thousands of original works are on the shelf? screw that.

lmao. true. I can't sit through that film.maybe all the teen girls that made Titanic so huge back in the day grew up and realized Dicapario got fatter and the love story is very melodramatic and corny!

same experience for on both my viewings... 5 mins before... the place gets packed... i think it had to do with family aspect... alot of them buy food togather rather than one person.. so they all wait in line and then it slowly fills up.
-
why question its greatness... it has shocked everyone on this board.. that is impressive.

yeah, its called a good movie with a badass called Jennifer Lawrence.Lmao, exactly. See, so why didn't Passion break the OW record then? Obviously it was more then just the book sales that drove THG to this kind of gross.
-
I think we should just have a Hunger Games style contest and whoever is left is right on their opinion of THG's OD

FRIDAY 11 PM, 6TH UPDATE… EXCLUSIVE: My sources tonight say The Hunger Games is looking to open with $66 million for Friday box office in the U.S. and Canada including the record $19.75M in midnight shows. That puts its 3-day North American weekend gross around $138M. “The West Coast and late shows still need to come in, so this number could bounce around a bit. But, nevertheless it’s everything we thought it to be,” one rival studio exec tells me. This is the biggest movie start ever for Lionsgate, which now can count on a blockbuster bonanza for its franchise trilogy. “I did see some champagne glasses flowing down the hall,” one ecstatic Lionsgate exec gushed to me. Top Friday numbers include the last Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part Two at $91.1M, Twilight Saga: New Moon at $72.7M; The Dark Knight at $67.2M; Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part One at $61.7M. Audiences gave The Hunger Games an ‘A’ Cinemascore with under-age 18 teens/tweens rating it ’A+’.

they are still usingLionsgate has never had so much money to count, probably why they are taking so long to release something legit.

hugh frickin jackman has worked with more top directors than will smith... he doesn't have to be leonardo dicaprio and work with every top director known to man... but come on.Or at least a good damn director. You'd think considering his first Oscar-nominated role was with Michael Mann, that would convince him but I guess not. He's never worked with a Scorcese, a Scott, or a Spielberg. Say what you will about Tom Cruise but at least he's worked with directors that would, you know, actually challenge him. That's why I'm almost positive After Earth will be a weak film because you're talking about a huge ego in Smith and a HUGE ego in Shyamalan.
