Saw a sneak peek last night. One word: INSANITY!!! (In a good way)

I was happy with Pikachu's performance this weekend. I wasn't expecting above $60M, but I was expecting higher OS numbers. It looks like this will just break even when you throw in the PA. But this doesn't change the fact that Pokemon is the world's highest grossing media franchise, who makes all their money on merchandise and video/card games. Good luck with the sequel!

I'm hoping the weekend will be $180M but it's not looking so good! Fingers crossed that this will be more weekend heavy!!!

For anyone who does have A-List, if you link it to your Fandango VIP account (it's free), and you order through Fandango, they give you $5 on your Fandango account for every 4 tickets you buy, including every A-List movie you see.
It's a pretty sweet deal. I've been able to treat friends to movies this way.
WOW!!! Sweet!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

Where would you say it ranks among DC movies overall?
I would say it’s the best, actually. I liked it better than Wonder Woman and even Aquaman! I’m not including Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies since they are not part of the DCEU.

I’m looking forward to catching an early screening of Shazam this afternoon
I think you'll enjoy it!!! It's a lot of fun!

Freddy in this case is more Ned Leeds. Stoked to hear that it's apparently more encompassing than just the buddy comedy between those 2 if that Shoplifters comparison is anything to go by.
Freddy is a mix between Ned and Tony. He's Ned because of that awkward but cute nerdiness that we can all relate to. And he's Tony because he knows all about the "cape crusader stuff." I will be watching this again when it officially comes out in theatres =)!

Basically...except Shazam didn't have a mentor, unless you count Freddy (the disabled kid). And that Spider-Man was already established as a superhero in this movie.

I honestly don’t think anyone will think you’re crazy at all. Social media reactions have been good for Shazam so it sounds like it’s a very entertaining movie.
It is a lot of fun! I will definitely tell you that! By far not a perfect movie, but not god awful.

How'd you rate the movie compared to other comic book movies released within the past year or so?
Well....compared to Aquaman, it was around the same level, although I would rate Aquaman a little higher. Aquaman has some stylish action sequences and Mamoa has a lot of charisma. Shazam! has more of a comedic effect and Levi pulls it off nicely. Compared to Captain Marvel, it was actually almost on par (I know people will be looking at me crazy). I just found Shazam! more entertaining than Captain Marvel. Both films have their moments and some hiccups. But Shazam! is a hell of a lot better than that Suicide Squad crap (I HATED that movie) and does not drag (like BvS). Without spoiling anything, that's all I can say.

Fan screenings have begun huh?
Yup...actually, screenings started as early as last week, I believe. Just after Captain Marvel opened up. I live in Chicago and I think the Shazam! crew began their tour early. The cast was at our theatre for the screening to get the buzz going.

I saw a screening last night. Honestly, I was expecting worse but I was pleasantly surprised on how fun and entertaining it was! Not gonna spoil anything. All I am gonna say is that Zachary Levi was hilarious and the child actors were also very good! 😃

Sooooo worth it!!! Even during "dead" months. I finally get to see more independent and smaller films. Just one IMAX regular 2D showing is $20 so A-List has already made its worth.

Oh. Guess I have a short memory, I thought it got pretty mixed reviews from critics. Disney must have paid them off.
Lol Disney 😂😂😂😂. Please do more research.

Why are people so quick to say this will make it to $250m (some even at $300m now)?
I don't think it will have the staying power to get that far, but it should get to $200m and that's really good.
It will definitely make over $250M at this point!

$4.5M WITH the Wednesday previews?!?!?! Terrible!!! Sad because The Rock has a pretty good resume (if you ignore Hercules).

Well I'm seeing this at 7 tonight and I will get a cool facehugger pin!

Just watched it. Loved it!!! I honestly loved how it ended. It fits the genre.

I've always liked these kind of movies, especially since it's sci-fi. Now the ending has me more intrigued to see it tomorrow morning at matinee price!

Don't fall for the troll. All he's doing is making people hate the Avengers.

This thread is really amusing. What does BKB stand for?

I can see it now: a bunch of old SNL cast members trying to survive in 30 Rock.
