After finding out the other day that Friday was a huge discount day, I was a tad disappointed at the likelihood of deflated numbers. In hindsight, this can only be good for Frozen. Not only is it apparently still selling out its Saturday showings, but hopefully the many more people that saw it Friday than might have otherwise will similarly spread the great word-of-mouth we know Frozen can do. It's all so exciting!
Yes, I am totally with you. With the spread word of mouth, it seems that the performance of Frozen in small cities / movie distributors is a way better than yesterday.

admissions looks awesome considering yesterday way TOHO day even (40% discount). Hopefully we should see and increase in gross from yesterday.
This is very likely. Yesterday the admissions in TOHO was around 49500 , while today chances are the number will surpass 60000.
More admissions, higher prices, why not an increase from yesterday
BTW, the admissions in another two distributor (109 , Kinezo ) is also performing much better than yesterday /`

update ! Toho is the biggest movie distributor in Japan , accounting for more than 20% of national-wide theaters.

Oh I forgot, Friday was Toho day (cheaper ticket prices). So that number was a little bit inflated I guess?
In my opinion, despite the cheaper prices, Frozen has 8.8% 3D in TOHO theaters.
Perhaps it can more or less offset the impact of TOHO day.

Just show you the Presale of 644-seat hall in a very famous theater in downtown Tokyo.
Tomorrow 7 pm.
More than 400 seats have already been booked.

-
Do you have any presale numbers olive??
Just list one of the biggest movie distributors in Japan : TOHO
No presales, but the total seats and show times may be a good sign. (# Some theaters are not included in this information )
3.15
Doramon : 41103 seats, 156 showtimes
Frozen : 92154 seats, 278 show times

I counted again and Frozen will have 583 screens in Japan on Friday.
FYI.
I read the article in Japan's very famous site 2ch, which says
672(***)scr 03/14 「アナと雪の女王」ウォルト・ディズニー・ピクチャーズ
http://kohada.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/animovie/1394603656/
I don't know why the difference of two numbers is so huge.

I'll go with 100M I think it has a chance of breaking out even more. As for the OW I'd say 8.5M. I have much more faith in my total prediction than my OW one.
Just one simple question. Since Frozen screens on Friday, the box oofice of OW will include Friday or merely Weekend performance (3.15-16) ?

South Korea ($76.3M), the United Kingdom ($63.8M), Germany ($47.9M), China ($46.1M), France ($42.6M), Russia ($33.3M), and Australia ($30.8M).
Hope that China number will pass Germany number, and China will be #4 OS market for Frozen, very good performance.
According to the official data released by China's national movie agency, the box office of Frozen ending last Sunday
is 293.5m RMB. This number has passed Germant number.

Not significantly more, unfortunately. The US is plugging along just fine, but China and Korea are fading very fast, and the earnings in other territories are quite low in an absolute sense, even if it's not quite dead. (For instance, the continued #1 presence in Israel is neat, but we're talking about under a hundred thousand per week.) Best case scenario, we might be looking at 1.02 billion when Japan hits.
I agree with you .

I said it's not being advertised. Putting a poster up on a movie distribution site isn't advertising. Also that poster doesn't say anything about sing along.
well, but judging from this weekend's Frozen showtime, it seems that the distributor has some confidence on sing-along.
The total weekend showtime for Frozen is around 1750 but the sing-along accounts for more than 1/4 (456 + )
-
Yes, it's a poster?
Yes, I download it from one of the biggest movie distributors MegaBox website.
-
Glad to see frozen getting sing along in many different countries! Sadly in south korea there has hardly been any advertising of the sing along version and many people don't even know about it or what it is. Atm, there's a good chance it won't boost tickets sales by any significant margin...

Frozen passed Iron Man 3, will place #11 soon but I don't think it will reach 11m.
Two quesitons:
1. If Frozen wins Oscar, will that be any help to the box office in Korea ?
2. Now the sing-along version is avalaible in Hongkog. If sing-along of Frozen is released in SK, will this improve the box office ?
-
It's going to be so close to 9m tomorrow. Just think, that will be triple the highest early estimate for Frozen in SK.
It seems that Sk has surpassed UK as the biggest foreign market for Frozen
