One of my favorite childhood films.
I was more of a Spongebob movie guy myself.

Might as well give my opinion on Frozen; it's good. However, I don't really agree with a lot of the praise. People claim it better than The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, but I just don't see it. Now, there are a lot of impressive things in the movie: I like the sisters, their personalities, and their relationship; it's genuine, it's adorable, and as someone who has two younger sisters, I always do appreciate a movie that has well-written female protagonists. Olaf is funny (most of the time), as well as there being good laughs from the other characters. And the songs are great...okay, maybe two or three of them. And the animation is fantastic too. However, in comparison with other movies, such as Tangled, I prefer it more. Tangled had better characters, a more entertaining villain, a better flowing narrative, and just had better romantic chemistry. And while Tangled had two really great songs, and two others that were just okay, Frozen had only Let it Go, DYWTBAS, and FtFTiF as the highlights; Love is an Open Door was cute, Frozen Heart was forgettable, and the Olaf and troll songs were just obnoxious and terrible to listen to. But that's just my thoughts, so maybe I'm just an idiot who has no good taste, I dunno.

I can say overall I did underestimate the mutants
I overestimated. I honestly thought the movie would get over $100M. Now, it seems TF4 will be the only likely candidate, unless TFIOS pulls a rabbit out.

So I come back to this thread to find that there are about pages that I missed.
Oh brother!
I know that feeling. I want to read every page, but I can't do it; ain't nobody got time for that.

What if nothing opens over 100M this Summer?
I don't see that happening. We still have X-Men, Transformers, and Guardians and Ninja Turtles as possiblities.

Thanks for that.
That's why I said now.....as in now, not the past.
Oh. Sorry about my stupidity.
But that is true now that you mention it. In the comedy world, Rogen is one of the highest in the chain. I think the only one who rivals him is Kevin Hart now, since he became the biggest black comedian since Chappele.

This is the End and Neighbors were big hits, but Rogen was in many bombs/disapointments before that. The Guilt Trip, 50/50, Paul, Funny People.

I do like how this thread has the most random shit in it. It helps pass the time waiting for both the weekend box office, and, as a TV ratings/schedule buff, NBC's fall schedule.

Yep and then SM can be introduced into the DISNEY catalog in a Avengers movie. No more reboot introduction movies just establish the character in the universe and lets get to the real meat of the stories.
Even better, Fox gives up the rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four. With that, Disney has a beyond epic crossover with Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Spidey, X-Men, Fantastic Four, and any other characters they bring to the big screen (Dr. Strange, Black Panther) to fight together in an epic 3+ hour movie.
-
I just realized something: the TV show The Neighbors just got canceled on the same day Neighbors came out. Ironic.
Also, Spider-Man's doing worse than I thought. Could it be below $200M? And will Sony just continue to go on with two more sequels which will likely do worse box-office and that spinoff with Sinister Six?

Doogal is probably the worst animated film I have ever seen.
You haven't seen Foodfight!

In line for the Minion ride at Universal. The movie next year will be huge, every kid seems to be wearing a minion t-shirt and the wait times are ridiculous. The minions are ultra marketable for sure.
I'm still wondering how they can pull it off. It's like making a Timon and Pumbaa movie; it just seems odd.

Might as well say this; I'd be lying if I said I wanted more comic book movies, outside of some ones like Wonder Woman, Flash, and JLA, they don't really bother me. When I watch an action movie, all I want are some interesting, likable characters, some cool sequences, and an exciting climax. And most comic book movies deliver. Yeah, there's stinkers like R.I.P.D., but there's still Avengers, Batman Begins, Iron Man, Thor, and more that are all entertaining movies that all have interesting, likable characters, cool sequences, and exciting climaxes. Now this could be because while I like Marvel and DC, I don't hold a certain attachment to them, but if these upcoming movies deliver in what I said earlier, let them thrive.

I just love how Disney thought Pocahontas was going to be their next Aladdin, and Lion King wasn't that important to them. Heh.
