  1. Pretty sure there's stats out there that the majority of streaming service demos for Netflix and Disney+ is largely white and middle/upper-class. Don't know what audience demos for theaters look like over the years (might check that out later), but you might be onto something.
  2. I was thinking in the 170M range tbh even if Chadwick was alive. Black Panther’s always been more of a Jurassic World or Force Awakens IMO, where the first movie had a huge overperformance and had nowhere to go but down. So holding onto 90% on the opening is rock solid IMO
  3. Too bad the masses don't care and only want to watch horror movies/nostalgic toy commercials.

  5. https://deadline.com/2022/11/box-office-black-panther-wakanda-forever-1235169891/ Surprised at the Black Adam hold. Should still be playing at most multiplexes well until Avatar.

Could change with actuals of course, but I would think Uni expected more with Spielberg's name and stuff. Maybe opening it the same weekend as Black Panther was a problem?
  7. I know this isn't the first time the boards has argued this, but I'm kind of coming around to the idea that this may be the peak for opening weekends a la the M*A*S*H* finale/Thriller tbh. At the very least for like 10 more years. Combo of moviegoing attendance on the consistent decline and just what feels possible is starting to shrink. Even the closest candidates like a new Potter or one of the Avatar sequels feel kinda shaky.
  8. I mean my mom is a very lovely and wonderful person, so I would hope that is the case.
  9. The people are finally embracing the idea of gay crocodiles in movies. Pixar and Billy Eichner really were trailblazers after all
  10. I mean I would hope you prefer your mom to a movie. That would be very confusing and bad priorities.
  11. Also from Deadline What the heck is with this Black Adam discrepancy? You really couldn't pick a smaller range?
