But if they released it at the weekend (hmm I did the report, but as that always includes many titles...) I guess than it is not good it isn't in the top 5 of Monday?

It did badly at the weekend, opening in 7th place.

Isn't uk something like 1.8B? and us 11B? so thats roughly 6 times.

The rule is that a film will usually do 10x as much in the US, in US$, as it will in the UK in UK£. So a $250m US blockbuster would on average be expected to take £25m here.

I've noticed on cineworld's website they're now listing Ghostbusters as opening on July 11th, instead of the 15th - which is a Monday. There have been instances this year of movies opening on a Monday, which will include Warcraft and Turtles 2 on May 30th.

Can anyone confirm Ghostbusters is indeed coming out a few days earlier now? It definitely read 15th on the site and has only just changed to the 11th.

That appears to be correct, DCM are reporting as 11th July. https://twitter.com/DCM_cinema_news/status/732925102581387267

  6. Ian Sandwell is away this week, but Screen did post numbers anyway:

    Concussion £115k

    Oddball and the Penguins £24k

    The Iron Giant R/I £10k

Jem & the Holograms £9k (if correct, that is poor beyond the wildest of imaginations..)

  7. Next week is very packed with Cinderella, Get Hard, SpongeBob and Seventh Son. I'm unsure how Cinderella will do but Maleficent numbers would be very good

Seventh Son will bomb horribly, I suspect. I haven't met a single person enthused by it. 12A means it could be open to family audiences, but realistically, they're way more likely to choose Cinderella, Home or Spongebob.
