15 screen theater near me is giving IF peak Marvel number of showings. I know it's short and the market is quiet, but damn.

Interstellar is the only Nolan I missed in Imax. I saw it in a shoebox theater on New Year's Eve so I'm glad it's coming back around.

Very excited to see Late Night and Love Lies Bleeding over the next couple of days. Other than Dune, it's been a pretty barren few weeks.

I have no skin in the game, but I see no reason why this won't have a 150-170m opening.

They really brought Dorothy back and Powell? I'm all in, baby.

Matthew Vaughn has always been kind of a hack. His best movie is still Layer Cake.

American Fiction might have broken the record for amount of TV ads I've seen for a movie that isn't playing ANYWHERE near me. It's gotta be three weeks now. Having strong "this movie isn't real" syndrome kick in.

Going through the Catching Fire weekend thread and it's such a blast of nostalgia from the jump. People disappointed by the Thursday number. All those famous and infamous names...

My local multiplex has two more shows tonight at 9/9:30 with only two tickets sold. For a Marvel movie, that is absolutely bonkers.

Haha, I don't mean to pile on but what the hell was this moment?

Momoa and Heard had ZERO chemistry. I was shocked when they brought her back to begin with; the Elon connection makes sense.

Never seen or had an interest in the first two Poirot films but I'm going to this tomorrow. Everything I've heard and seen sounds really intriguing.
Going tomorrow myself. I haven't seen Murder and really didn't like Nile, so I'm taking a shot based on WOM.

Knowing you, Barbie's feet are more than enough.
Going Monday, remaining calm. Hey, they put those front and center in the trailer. They knew.

I'd put the benchmark for Oppy this weekend at 45, not 50. Feel like a lot of people are zeroed in on 50 and will be letdown if it doesn't hit that.

The Oppenheimer superhero suit-up scene was so cool
Hahaha I loved that so much. David Krumholtz tells him to take that silly military garb off; the theme starts blasting as he suits up.

When I saw him in the trailer I thought he'd be one of the 50,000 actors who were just there for a quick walk on. Very pleasant surprise that he was kinda in it through the whole thing.
Would watch a whole film of he, Murphy and Damon just being a wacky trio.

MVP David Krumholtz.

Looking at the seating charts of my local 10-screen, Barbie is gonna be selling out multiple Friday shows by tomorrow. Wild stuff.

Surprised how mixed I feel. There's a lot I love and a lot I don't. Definitely the weakest since 3. It'll probably improve with rewatch, but some of the choices didn't land well.

I'll join in with my own anecdotal evidence as several average folks have brought this movie up impromptu during conversation lately. I think the hype is very real so 130M+ opening wouldn't surprise me. I just hope the movie actually delivers in some way (very excited for Gosling).

Doesn't help that the character's last appearance was as a sidekick in a poorly received team up movie.
I feel this is the biggest hurdle. Why should the public be excited for a movie with a character/actor combo that was last seen six years ago in a movie nobody liked? There's ZERO build-up here.

I liked this fine but really prefer the first one.

Just saw the extended ad during the game. Why does the CG look so bad? Whole movie has that super flat digital sheen.

45% drop for Guardians would be great considering Fast and PLF loss.

I'm looking forward to seeing Furiosa on Monday, but a "Mad Max" movie without Max always seemed like a very risky bet. The trailers weren't really great either. I'm disappointed by the opening yet not surprised.
