Wonder Woman has a shot to hit 30M AUD.

It would be great to get past BvS' $29,678,247 final gross.

    DCEU 3rd Weekend Gross

    Man of Steel - $2.17M (-48%)/$20.98M

    Batman v Superman - $2.08M (-55%)/$26.38M

    Suicide Squad - $3.18M(-46%)/27.77M

    Wonder Woman - $3.36M(-41%)/$20.41M

  2. DM3 was selling out last weekend, but not enough to earn more than 100M on its opening weekend. An estimate of $2M per Deadline, actuals might end up higher. That's the fourth highest grossing OW for an animated movie behind Minions, DM2, and Finding Dory.

Another sub-100M total for a Star Cinema production, CWSBF could have opened lower than the third weekend of Wonder Woman.

Opening this weekend is Transformers 5.

  3. Did some tracking at Trinoma for the last two screenings of CWSBF, DM2(2 cinemas), and WW.

    Despicable Me 3
    7:20PM 267 410 65%
    8:20PM 235 440 53%
    9:40PM 210 422 50%
    10:40PM 102 440 23%

    Wonder Woman
    7:55PM 402 622 65%
    10:55PM 162 622 26%

    Can We Still Be Friends
    8:10PM 237 440 54%
    10:40PM 114 440 26%

DM3 will be number one this week, but I highly doubt it beating Minions record as the biggest OW for an animated film. CWSBF is doing bad, while WW is holding well.

Minions' OW was PHP189M and PHP125.7M for DM2.

  4. Opening Weekend Gross/Total

    MINIONS

    Philippines - $4.2M/6.5M

    Australia - $4.6M/23.5M

    Singapore - $2.2M/5.2M

    DESPICABLE ME 2

    Philippines - $2.9M/5.3M

    Australia - $4.6M/32.7M

    Singapore - $1.8M/5.7M

DM2 has better legs in these set of markets. Didn't enjoy both films as much as the first movie, that's still one of my favorite animated movies. It was not only cute and adorable, it has so much heart as well.

  5. Major new releases for today are Despicable Me 3 and local film, Can We Still Be Friends.

Based on sureseats, DM3 seems to be not as strong as Minions and DM2. School has already started, so this is more of a weekend fare. But hype is not as loud as the spin-off and the first sequel.

Can We Still Be Friends is doing okay, 182/440 sold for the 5:55PM screening at Trinoma.

He isn't comparing it, he just said that Wonder Woman has already surpassed the entire runs of those films.

I see. It also get past Ratatouille, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and Wedding Crashers. As well as WB's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sherlock Homes. More movies will be surpassed tomorrow. :sparta:
