  1. Strangely, I has always see Transformers movies as a huge adventure with the cast going from place to place doing quest rather than a big ass battle war movie. So I really enjoyed and had the most fun with The Last Knight, along with 1, 2, 4. Dark Of The Moon (the first one I saw in theater) stressed the shit out of me with non stop action in limited urban setting for like a hour and half.

Worse than what we've seen here in the US with "those" groups?

"Those" group in US seems to be treated as villain, and be drowned on internet by the other group. Not sure if they're really minority. In Asia they aren't villain nor minority, so maybe, worse.

US racists are white supremacists. Asian racists* are walking talking studies of inferiority complexes who project their self-hate on other non-white races to feel better about themselves, hoping they are second best to the whites. It's actually a far sadder, more pathetic situation.

*Emphasis on Asian racists like those attacking minority actors like Halle, not a generalization of all Asian people ofc. And also the last thing I'll say on this subject coz it's icky but someone needed to say it out loud.

What the heck are you talking about???

  3. It's pity that Lightyear flopped. It's one of a few Pixar movies that I really enjoyed. I've always hated Pixar and their way of making animated movies. Trying to appeal to both kids and adults and end up being half assed. Their humour is lame and their character design is silly/ugly and kid-bait obvious compared to Dreamworks/Disney/Blue Sky's Ice Age series. They're trying to hard to be deep and profound with every damn movies, sending some meaningfull messages that's is too hard for elementary kids to understand but too shallow for even teenagers.

    That's said, Rango >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Haha. Yeah... It's actually maybe the best comp in many ways as the films were received similarly by critics but fully critic proof and mega grossers DOM and OS.

Seriously TF might actually be the first critic proof franchise ever lol. Is there any other franchise out there can make 838m, 1,123m, 1,104m with 20%, 35% and 17% critics score?

For Fun, here are the highest-grossing trilogys of all time (Pure trilogys, so for example Avengers 1-3 or 2-4 isnt counted as that series isnt a trilogy. But i realize its a wonky definitin, so youre free to disagree with the trilogys i used):

    01. Star Wars Sequel Trilogy: 4,474B WW

    02. Spider-Man "Home" Trilogy: 3,913B WW

    03. LOTR trilogy: 2,991B WW

    04. Hobbit trilogy: 2,931B WW

    05. POTC OT: 2,683B WW

    06. Despicable Me trilogy: 2,548B WW

    07. Star Wars Prequels: 2,525B WW

    08. Raimi Spider-Man: 2,502B WW

    09. TDK trilogy: 2,460B WW

    10. Iron Man Trilogy: 2,422B WW

Jurassic World and FK together account for 2,980B, so JW trilogy without Dominion is already #4.

Assuming a worst-case (imo) 850M WW gross for Dominion, the trilogy would stand at 3,830B. Assuming a more realistic 950M WW, its 3,930B WW.

So the JW trilogy has a good shot at becoming the 2nd highest-grossing pure trilogy of all time.

Do you have something against Transformers man?

  6. The Avengers doesn't look big to me.

The New York Battle looks like a Aliens street biker gangs going wild rather than a world level threat invasion.

Putting it next to Transformers 3's Chicago battle, which is a very similar action consequenc, it looks like a joke.
IMO many people would agree that among modern blockbusters TF movies are the most massive one in term of scale.
DC movies (particularly Man of Steel) are big too.

  7. I dont think better taste (better? Lol, more like American taste) has anything to do with TF5 drop when movie like XXX & RE6 are still making a bank, and FF8 is not exactly some kind of good movie either.  Franchise fatigue + for the most part TF5 itself being horribly edited + almost nonexistent robots in action have killed the movie potential. Actually, the action has gotten worse since the 2nd movie. Bay seems to forget what make people going to see a TF movie. A decent plot + iconic fight like the forest battle in TF2 will make this franchise back on track. Also I think it's time for Paramount to hire some actor who has worldwide appeal to be the movie protagonist. I like Marky Mark but he's no where as popular as the like of Tom Cruise, The Rock or Statham.

  8.

Just saw the movie, and it already become my most favorite live action Transformers movie. I love many things about it, but I can understand why it's getting bad reviews (I mean, more bad reviews than other ones) & bad word of mouth. This movie has two major problems. First, it has the same problem as Batman v Superman - another movie I loved. That's the horrible editing. Scenes changed so fast, it seems like they cut so many scenes to fit the movie in 148 minutes. Second, the robots do have good amount of screentimes & lines, but only in normal situations. There are so few scenes of them in battle & they have shown almost everything in trailers. Action in this movie is the worst out of 5 movies. Worst actions (what make people watch Transformers movies) + confused plots are the causes of horrible word of mouth. As a fan of Bay he disappoints me with this one, but the new writers did a good job. I like the 2nd trilogy direction, it has a different feel compared to the 1st trilogy. They are putting more effort into expanding Transformers mythology. The reason for event happened in each movie at least feel deeper than just "Oh the Decepticons are planning to destroy Earth with some random ancient artifact, we human must stop them with the Autobots"
