Some people in the comments are trying to explain this but it's they probably didn't believe there would be a sequel which is fine. It just a movie that we can't think too harshly

It will be sad when this people discover that the original movie and the sequel are not psychology classes, at least the first is one of most gen z favourite animated movie 💙

Hey maybe it will reach it outright... as long as it can get a 15x multi from this weekend, it gets to 8 million admits.

Nothing seems impossible for this movie 😏

At least Lightyear had a recognizable character. This has nothing. No kids wants to see this.

I think YOU don’t want to see the movie bc i have just read the exact same post in another thread from you. My nephew when we watched the trailer before TLM said she was excited to see Elementals and we’re going to the cinema this weekend

  4. So i was in the cinema with my little niece (6) and after the first half she said ok im done that’s boring so we left the cinema and so did a few of the already little audience. The underwater scenes were SO DARK that you can’t actually see what’s going on sometimes,  it is pretty boring and dont look like underwater, more like mermaids floating around in the space lol. Under the sea was the only thing i liked a lot bc there was some colour and life. I think when we left things were getting better bc Ariel goes to the castle and the story flows a little quicker, but i guess i will have to wait for D+

In conclusion, I think it is neither very childish nor very adult, and that is the main problem. The oposite that SMB achieved, being funny for everyone, this is boring for everyone. Of course racism is a real thing too, but i think that’s not the main issue for this to fail at least overseas.

    ps im from Uruguay

That is one of the disappointment.

People should stop reading spoilers before watching a movie. I went to the cinema after only watching the trailers and think they really did a very good job bc it didn’t reveal the actual plot about the high evolutionary (good and hateable villain imo) wanting to get rocket and the guardians trying to save him while seriously hurt.

Gamora back with Guardians for a last ride was well managed, and everyone was so funny. The dance scene at the end after they split was great. And the music, oh man, beautiful again.

Maybe since Mario wasn't as popular in Europe and South America before, the movie has more of a novelty factor to them?

Meanwhile for Asia it seems like it's the "same old same old" so they'd rather just replay their favorite Mario games and think it's pointless to watch the movie. Honestly the movie could be seen as just one giant cutscene in the video game if you've played Mario games your whole life.

In Uruguay Mario is extremely popular and the opening was huge. Also Illumination has some of the biggest hits ever here and last week was autumn holidays. It’s a shame we dont have box office numbers anymore 😕
