I'll just speak for myself, but after watching that movie I had no desire to see my favorite characters torn apart and fight each other ever again.

I see, yeah this all makes sense. I guess I am a different type of viewer that can get down with certain types of drama, almost like a Royal Rumble of sorts, lol. And yes, thinking back, it is a bit of a long movie.

I wonder why Civil War had the lowest multiplier out of all the MCU movies. It was a damn good movie worth repeated viewings, which you can't say for a good handful of some of the other ones.

It's OW is EG's third weekend. Even if they thought EG would do 20% more than IW's 3rd weekend when they were setting the schedule, that would be thinking that it would be competing against around a 75m weekend.
They probably figured that they could compete against that.
Exactly, and if they move it down, they're competing against Aladdin, Secret Life of Pets sequel, Spider-Man, Lion King, Dora, etc. all kids movies. An Endgame $75 mil weekend (as probably initially projected) wouldn't be the worst competition.

So when will this beat Force Awakens?

The only question mark could be impact of Thrones, which has the big Winterfell battle with the White Walkers tonight. Infinity War did not have to deal with this a year ago, so we will see if there is any impact.
My thinking is, those empty seats will be filled by other movie-goers who don't watch GoT and couldn't get a Thu/Fri/Sat ticket.
Also, a lot of GoT fans probably planned to see Endgame before throwing their Winterfell party, since they are probably wary about spoilers more than most people. We'll see!

Oh I didn't eat or drink at all. I went to the bathroom before driving out to the theater (35 minutes away), got there 5 minutes early, then went to the bathroom again before sitting down (reserved seats). Didn't feel the need to go until after the credits finished.
It's a good idea to have something to drink during the day, cause you don't want to get dehydrated or your body will respond by filtering your fluids harder, forcing you to pee more (sounds ironic, but that's homeostasis for ya). Just don't overdrink, but don't get too thirsty. If you really want to drink in the theater, wait until when you feel the second act starts.

What the heck happened to my font? Lol

Aladdin is my favorite WDA film, but I'm hesitant to say that it will be a big hit. I feel like more people are in love with The Lion King, which isn't bad at all, but might overshadow Aladdin a bit.
I'm still not sold on Mena Massoud's acting chops (I think he needs more charisma maybe?), and you can only do so much with Will Smith. It'll probably make bank by default, but I just don't see it really breaking out at the moment. Hope I am wrong!

Ooof, so sorry that happened to you! I still have another 49 hours 😣😣 I probably shouldn't even be on here!

I just rewatched Black Panther on Sunday and I can't at all figure out why it was rated so high by critics 🤔
It's a decent flick, but it's very formulaic and it has terrible CG(mainly in the final battle). Not a huge of fan of MBJ's portrayal of Killmonger either.
I kind of agree with this; typical 'superhero dies and comes back to life' trope, then yes MBJ was given ZERO interesting lines--great backstory written, but no unique character charisma a la Hela or Ego. I still applaud Coogler for doing an amazing job overall despite some of its shortcomings.

I also find it kinda funny how so much effort is put into avoiding spoilers for this when there are really no spoilers to care about lol.

Anyone else get a Sharknado vibe from this? The jokes were mostly funny, but the execution was terrible. I know it's supposed to be ridiculous, but it became B-movie ridiculous. SMH.

Don't know. You may be right but I think it will do very well. It has everything going for it.
I agree. If Frozen 2 doesn't hit at least $500M, then something went seriously wrong with their marketing.

To me, it's not just the previews. In the wake of TLJ, I get a sense of Star Wars Fatigue. I'd feel that way even if Solo was coming out in December. But in May? IMO, this has flop-alert written all over it.
We'll see ...
I know people are clamoring for a December release instead, but when you think about it, it already has Alita: Battle Angel, Aquaman, Bumblebee, and Mary Poppins, y'all. Too much direct competition. Actually, it would be hilarious if they released it 12/14, the same day as Lord & Miller's Spider-Man movie.
As it stands, there won't be much competition for Solo until JW comes out a month later. Maybe Incredibles 2, but that's still June 15th and not as much direct competition.

I mean the movie hasn't opened yet so. IW is already the most viewed trailer of all time, so I'm not really sure what else they could be doing lol. The rest is just on this movie to deliver the goods.
Yeah I wouldn't go as far as to say IW is being overshadowed. BP is having its time in the limelight, but IW will break records again. Unless the Russos pull a Joss Whedon lol.

It did, and no question, $620m DOM and $1.326B WW is objectively a massive success.
But still, aren't you worried for "Solo" in a few months anyway?
I'm not worried. They're not expecting it to do as well as any of the newer films.
That said, after watching the trailer, I actually think it looks incredibly fun, but then again my expectations are probably low as well.

I get the point. But TFA grossed almost a billion dollars. The drop off was gonna be huge even if the reception was better for TLJ. A lot of people didn't like the movie. I don't think the drop off is because people are losing interest in the franchise in general.
This is true 100%.

I mean, they "Universed" Unbreakable/Split/Glass; might as well "Universe" anything that turns a profit! Now if only they do a Jigglypuff + Inception mashup. 😁
