Btw i saw this in april, it was rough cut with a good amount of unfinished shots (normal). This could use the extra time. Movie is quite solid, no doubt this could take off with proper marketing. Good move.

Damn, looking at Firestarter’s presales and Men’s location count, I’m thinking Scream will remain the only horror hit this year so far. Some great films, but it’s been a quiet first 5 months for the genre at the box office.
Salems Lot is going to surprise, there’s a reason why new line has it in the same weekend as both IT films. The movie is good. The trailer is just around the corner and will get some nice traction.

Gonna assume Hader's the MVP?
I would personally say Hader is the standout, but I still really enjoyed Mcavoy, just go into it knowing he’s doing a combo New England/ philly accent which is reminiscent to Kevin’s accent in split. I didn’t find it distracting.

@ViewerAnon Better or worse than the cut of IT Chapter 2 that you saw?
SpoilerI adored It Chapter 2. I was disappointed with Doctor sleep only because of my own expectations. It's a solid adaptation. Both films have fat to trim, though.

Not really. The ending is very different.
...but I think King's still gonna approve of the ending.
SpoilerI did not like the ending. It shoehorned Jacks arc in the original book to be taken by Dan. It's not earned at all, the book was adamant on Dan earning his rehabilitation and the motivation to live his life at the end. Mikes heart is in the right place with trying to rectify King's original ending to the shining, but replacing Dan with Jack was not right.

I saw an advanced screening a few months ago, it's not bad at all. From what i can tell, this surveyed pretty well. I can see this being a crowd pleaser in the way The Black phone was this year (I still liked TBP more) but from what i saw this is not something they're going to dump. I think This would've done well in september but there was no way it was going to be finished in time.
