  1. End Game is 1000% locked to beat Avatar.  It had a WW weekend of 165 million.  It needs a 2 multiplier from here to pass it.  It's a done deal.  No matter what EG ends with domestically, it can never be called a disappointment.  You can't, you are not allowed to be disappointed with legs.  It opened so much higher than any other film in history that it was not going to get Avengers legs or even CM legs.  And as has been mentioned about 100X, legs for this film don't matter.  The final tally is going to make it the second highest grossing film domestically and it will be the number one film WW.  It will have made more than 500 mill after it's opening weekend.  I think there's only four other films that have done that (TFA, Avatar, Titanic and Black Panther was close).

So really, legs should not be part of this conversation.  Not after it shattered the OW record by 100 million.
    Wonderful.

  2. I didnt appreciate Cinderella (2015) enough when it came out but all these recent remakes including this one has highly increased my appreciation for that movie. It was a great movie and great remake. Having Cate helped hugely of course.

Even Maleficent was a much better retelling than any of these other ones.
Cinderella is the best remake so far. Acting production, costume design everything was so good.

  3. I think problem is with writer and director. Brie Larson is good actress if she is given right material she will steal the show.

Watch Scott Pilgrim, Short Term 12 and Room.

This is same problem as Captain America. In its first outing CA didn't connected much with audience.

We should give her time. Criticising Brie will not help. Marvel writers should be criticised for not writing compelling storyline.

  4. Apparently Doom Patrol (original show from the DC Universe app) will be released internationally on the HBO Go streaming app. Could this be WB starting to hold content for their own Netflix rival? I don't see Netflix not being interested in buying its international rights considering they buy basically anything studios offer them.
They didn't buy Holmes and Watson. Also, Doom Patrol is lesser known brand than Titans. It didn't generate huge buzz also. Very niche imo.

  5. Just a slice of a scene but it oddly looks more fake and stage bound than when I saw it on Broadway (w/o the live performance energy to compensate).   I'm not sure how Ritchie managed that...
Yeah, I don't understand who hired Guy Ritchie for Alaadin.

All the live action movies from Disney (except Alice) atleast had something going for them. Even Dumbo has some good elements.

Alaadin looks fake. I will watch it anyways because of curiosity.
