I've seen this yesterday and wow, the visuals are outstanding. Probably the most visually pleasing film, I've seen since 2019's Portrait of a Lady on Fire. Great performances from Washington and McDormand, too. The highlight is Kathryn Hunter as the three Weird Sisters. Very creepy, too. Goes for a 30s horror movie vibe, but obviously through a Coen lens. The Coen influence can be felt, although a bit less than usual, because the dialogue is mostly true to the original (as far as I read). I have to confess that I didn't understand lots of the lines, cause I'm not a native speaker and 1600s English is hard for me. It also dragged a little in the first third, but overall, I enjoyed this film a lot.

Do we know, when the premiere is going to be? Or when we can expect opinions or reviews?
-
Have there been any press screenings for this?

will this have a twist like get out and us?? or is it pretty much a classic remake?
Afaik, it's a sequel, not a reboot. Vanessa Williams appears in both films.

Promising Young Woman, Soul, and Ma Rainey are hardly only for stuffy critics. Neither is Mank, a Fincher film that thumbs its nose at Hollywood.
Mank is probably the least accessible of the Best Picture nominees (maybe together with The Father), but Sound of Metal, Minari, Judas and the Black Messiah and The Trial of the Chicago 7 are pretty entertaining in my opinion. Those are definitely not movies that are only for critics. And I believe that Another Round and Soul, which won in other categories, can be watched and enjoyed by most people.

The situation in Europe is not a disaster and nowhere close to the situation in Latin America. The EU is expected to reach herd immunity by July 14, France vaccinated almost 1 million people in 2 days so things greatly accelerated and it's gonna accelerate even further.
No way, the EU is achieving herd immunity by July. I can only talk about Germany, but we're way behind with vaccinations. We haven't even vaccinated every person of the highest priority category (age >80). Our chancellor announced recently that adults of the lowest priority group can get a vaccination by September and I'm not even sure, if that's realistic.

It's a November release so a first trailer might come soon, right?
Trailer releases work differently since the beginning of the pandemic. We don't even have a trailer for Vivo and that's supposed to be released in less than two months! Right now, we get trailers for theatrical releases like 1-2 months in advance, similar to trailers for streaming releases.

Dune - Duh, it's Villeneuve doing a sci-fi epic. Arrival and BR2049 are two of my all-time favourites
The French Dispatch - I looove Wes Anderson and the trailer looked gorgeous. It's crazy that the film should've had its Cannes premiere almost a year ago and we haven't heard anything about the film since then. Jeez, Wes Anderson supposedly starts production on his next film in Spring!
The Way of the Wind - What can I say? Sure, not all Malick films are great, but when he hits the mark, the outcome are some of the most beautiful, profound pieces of art ever. Days of Heaven is probably the best-looking film, I've ever seen and I really enjoyed A Hidden Life in 2019.

Imo, the Best Picture lineup is excellent this year. True, there are no real masterpieces this year (except maybe Nomadland which comes close in my opinion) and last year had stronger films in general, but I think all of the films deserved their nomination. I think, that's not always the case (last year, I didn't care much about Jojo Rabbit or Joker and the year before, all of the nominated films were pretty weak, except Roma, The Favourite and A Star is Born). But, you're probably right, some of the films are small, independent films, like Minari, Sound of Metal or The Father, which maybe would've been overlooked, if more big studio or awards bait films had been released. I'm also not sure, if Vinterberg would've gotten a Best Director nomination in a normal year, but I'm super happy for him.

"Partial lockdown extended through at least Dec. 20th...."
So they are clearly leaving the window open just in case... as it's scheduled for Dec. 23rd in Germany.
Dec 20 is just the end of the current measures. If new infections don't drop significantly (which they won't with only a partial lockdown), the measures are going to be extended into the new year. I have no idea, why Warner Bros. Germany didn't cancel or delay the theatrical release yet. Cinemas probably won't re-open anyway, if there's only WW84 and the delayed films from November.

Wednesday, December 23 — Austria, Germany, Korea
Lol, cinemas won't be open in December in Germany. Afaik, the lockdown will continue till mid January, only that the contact restrictions will be less strict during Christmas holiday to make it possible to meet your family. I don't believe, they'll allow cinemas to re-open during the "lockdown break" only to be closed again from Christmas until mid January.

Originally set to come out in November 2020, the movie is now slated to hit screens some time in 2021.

Wow, I didn't know that they moved up the release. My last information was December. They truly dump this one. It's definitely terrible.

Release date is 2 weeks away and there's no pics, no teaser and no trailer.
I know pandemic fucked a lot of stuff, but this is still really weird. Is the movie really that bad, that Disney just dumped it?
I mean, it could be another The Grudge or The Turning, but even thse movies had some marketing, pics and even trailers. What's going on?
You mean two months, right?

Why should they push this film to December? Even if the infection rate gets better in the next weeks, it will probably be up again in the winter due to cold weather. They should either wait till next year, when maybe there's a vaccine, or keep the release in October and have a reduced, overseas-heavy box office.

Do I understand this correctly? A Marvel film with a Bollywood dance scene, which is compared to Malick, Star Wars and One-Punch Man, directed by a Chinese director, who cites Manga as a big influence? That sounds awesome as hell! Between Mulan, Shang-Chi and this, I'm so ready for some Asian representation in US blockbuster cinema!

Weird, that this hasn't been moved to 2021 yet. I mean, the fact that there's no promotion at all, 3 months before the planned theatrical release, indicates that this won't be in cinemas this year, right?

Weird. So Disney is really releasing Antlers and The King's Man back to back? Is Antlers going to move?

It has already opened in several markets. Why is there still a review embargo? And when can we expect reviews?
