The tone of this thread feels wildly different to the one for King of the Monsters 5 years ago, where the steep decline of the projections with each passing day was a gut punch to the Goji fans in the site, to the point where some of them even quit the forums altogether for a while. I have a hunch they'll be feeling a lot differently this weekend.
I also wonder where we'd be had Godzilla vs Kong not already started filming, or not been in the can by the time King of the Monsters failed.
I think the Monsterverse would just be dead

Starting to think A or even A+ for Cinemascore is where we're gonna end up at this point

Per the Deadline article, PostTrak is 5 stars.
A Cinemascore incoming?

Gonna guess at least an A- Cinemascore. That's what Rise of the Beasts got.

PostTrak scores are in line with Quantumania, so probably a B+ Cinemascore as well. Quantumania was 2.02x with less competition.
Forget Black Adam, can Flash outgross Shazam 1?

Meh even my cousin that barely knows much of the spoiler or movies in general asked me if it was true the last two spider-man were in this movie.
You are kidding yourself if you think it's just for Molina and Dafoe.
I guess I mean more from what has been officially shown.
After the first trailer Molina has been a huge part of the marketing push I imagine because that reveal was the thing from that first trailer that got the most enthusiastic response.
I don't have any hard data on that though.

NWH has no real competition until Batman. It somehow being the movie to beat TFA domestic would be the funniest shit.
It won't happen, but I want it to.

Seeing Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man again was literally a dream of mine that I thought will never happen. My brain realizes that this is happening but my heart isn't. I'm afraid i'll one morning wake up for school just to realize all of this was a long, long dream. So you are right. At least for me.
I honestly don't even think a lot of mainstream audiences know that Tobey is (supposedly) in the movie, but the promise of seeing Dafoe and Molina playing these iconic roles again is enough to get a lot of butts in seats, even a lot of people that don't follow the MCU at all, just like the promise of seeing Harrison Ford as Han Solo again did that for The Force Awakens.

If NWH somehow outgrosses Infinity War (which is likely with a $200m+ OW) that's a pretty strong testament to the staying power of those first two Raimi movies in the public consciousness. Just another Holland Spider-Man movie wouldn't do these kinds of numbers. Adding Molina and Dafoe made this movie a TFA level event.

I am thinking 200+ for now. If it continues to be crazy for next 7 days I can drastically make it 250 range.
We live in a timeline where Alfred Molina is a box office draw.
When the first NWH trailer came out I saw someone predict that 'Hello, Peter' would be the new 'Chewie, we're home' and the closer we get to release, the more accurate it seems.

I see you are new, I wouldn't read into Deadline, or any trade numbers, too much (they have been proven wrong time after time) @Menor in the tracking thread had it at a $13m Friday (could change as it is still early) which would make it pretty hard to not go over $30m.
I don't think it's likely, I would just want to see the chaos because I'm a bad person.

It would be equally hilarious and tragic if it somehow came in under $30m.
