I'd not heard of it either until I saw your post. Appears to be usual Thursday previews and Wednesday EA (Fathom First special event including an exclusive Q&A with Helen Mirren and director Guy Nattiv - nice). GOLDA | Fathom Events

Idk the first movie was lightning in a bottle due to COVID and the complete dominance it had with respect to seat counts. The manga is also nowhere near as popular as it was in 2019/20/21 either. I don't see how it comes close to the OG and honestly it won't need to to be considered a success since the first movie is one of, if not the strongest single territory record in the world.
well the manga has been over for 3 years so naturally it can't be as popular as when it was running at peak but the viewership for the anime is still monstrous and demon slayer is basically their star wars,a fantastically well made trilogy could do mega numbers, yeah it won't get the seating allocation that the first one did but that might just lead to far stronger legs

Demon Slayer Trilogy, if they nail the first 2 then the finale might be the first 50b yen grosser

That’s horrendous! Maybe they should have just kept it to streaming. DC as a brand is extinct!
Also this is like the 5th Latino led film to underperform in the last few years (Encanto, ITH, WSS, Rise of the Beasts and now Blue Beetle). Guess Latino leads are just box office poison xD
Encanto came out at a time when covid was still severely limiting families and disney put it on streaming after like 30 days
ITH had no chance with COVID
WSS was thrown to the wolves vs NWH and Omicron raging
RoTB did solidly well for a movie with okay reception and damaged brand + china no longer subsidizing blockbusters
BB had no marketing campaign and is part of a dead brand
I would not say Latinos are poisons at leads based on those examples

Maybe it can beat Interstellar, if your hope comes true. Biggest Nolan movie ever, and in the top 10 foreign movies in South Korea.
10m admissions doesn't seem feasible with the scores that it's gotten, I think 5 is a good number to aim for

Toho might as well not bother releasing oppenheimer at any point

It’s digital sales
Fraction of what physical sales used to be at their peak, deadline projected $350m for a2 lifetime from home video + tv/streaming rights, a1 did over 400m in DVD sales domestically alone

$1.2b in home video numbers is not feasible for any movie

Barbie dropped about 27.5% from OD and so around 155m yen through 2 days or (1.1m usd)
