  1. Hmm..Well it has a very large number of showtimes but the shows themselves haven't been very full so far today. Hard to predict. It seems pre-sales are better for this evening so it should manage maybe £0.75m, and then over £3m for the 5 day. Not amazing, but solid.

Expect it to be higher the 0.75 more likely 0.90
  2. By the looks of things, THG should end just shy of AUD30m, with a chance of late legs to get it across the line!

THG should def get to 30mil its over 22mil now and should be at 24mil by Wed, BEMH over 13mil . Some life showing in Pirates whilst ranking #9 for 4 day weekend & #8 5 days it was #6 just for Monday
  3. Everything (including Mirror Mirror) are pulling good numbers! THG is easily winning with tBEMH pulling close #2 on friday with Wrath/21JS just behind. Mirror Mirror should easily be able to get well over $1m from the numbers I'm seeing. No idea about the Lorax during the day but at night it did pretty respectable.$5.0m THG$4.5m Lorax$3.0m Wrath$2.5m BEMH$1.8m 21JSAre my guesses :)

    Close on some#1 THG close to 4.9mil, #2 BEMG close 2.7mil, #3 DSL 2.1-2.2, #4, WOTT may manage 2mil, #5 21J, #6 MM
  4. i'm sorry... wha????number 2 3.4m ????? the exotic... etc etc.. WTF ? where did this come from...EDIT - just checked it out... it's a UK comedy..... hadn't even heard of it and somehow it makes 3.4m on OW.... thats insane!

LOL too funny.BEMH is doing really well matinees then THG takes over at night, but having said that Mon-tues overall THG is only +34% above BEMH.During daytime THG is only +23% above but come evening its over 50% above.THG will end the week well over well 11mil and BEMG over 5mil
  5. The Best Marigold Hotel is steaming along down here. Thursday numbers were about half of THG, and friday pre-sales were about half of THG to. We were really trying hard to market it though so that may have just been my theatre.

BMH is doing extremely well, its #2 of couse but HG is 2.7 times its number, THG well over 9mil for weekend and BMH well over 3mil#3-5 21J,JC,GR
  6. Nearly half a million from one-show sneak-peaks is impressive I think. That would put it on track for at least £1.5m today and £2m tomorrow. Walk-ups have been good tonight near me. Most shows were pretty full.

Not far off the mark Thu £430k, Fri will be close to £1.5mil
  7. So you can't just say, the AUS BO in 2008 was $945.4m and the DOM BO was $9630.6m and therefore the ratio is 10.09 and TDK DOM:AUS is 11.84 which means that it was relatively more successful there than here? It's probably a stupid question, but I'd like to understand this.

The general rule of thumb is $aus / $us and 10% is the usual benchmark so if a film does well in US or doesn't then if Aus does 9% or greater its considered good, if film doesn't do well in US then here have to have a much higher % to be consider it did very well here compared to US, quite often the UK is benchmarked these days as well but not as much as DomesticTDK $aus46.089/ $us533.345mil 9%
  8. Only that one chain and only in Victoria, as far as I know. But it's not completely owned by Village Roadshow, I think AHL (who owns Event) has a 50% stake.I'm sure Rth knows much more about this.

there is a post I did about 1/2 way down page 17further to that Roadshow film distributors and village theatres are part of the Village Roadshow Group,Palace films and Palace cinemas, Few years ago Icon Film distribution bought DendyFilms& CinemasMany years ago there use to be GU Film distribution(Distribution sold to Roadshow), Fox until early-mid 80's owned 50% of Hoyts

  10. Very strong for Chronicle. Fox should have got it on more screens. $2,923,849 on 192 screens for an average of $15,228. One of the highest averages of the year so far. Higher even then films like The Descendants and The Artist.http://www.urbancine...e/boxoffice.asp

actually they do have more Fox of late has been reporting Locations rather than prints (ie with alvin should have been reporting around high 300-400 but instead in 200's)
