How in the world is it breaking even already? It'll need to pull a good additional $40-60m to break even on the theatrical run.If foreign is strong, it'll do okay, but if not, it could be in trouble.J Edgar`s budget is $35 mio. It`s breaking even not counting bits and pieces it`ll make form abroad.

Overhyped and galacially paced.
I absolutely adore Carey Mulligan, but she was completely miscast here.
Could have been a classic, but it missed the mark. It's a B for me.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel trailer seems to be getting great reactions from what we're seeing in the crowd reports. They may have a nice little sleeper hit on their hands.

Could be that Monday's numbers were slightly inflated due to those (relatively few) school districts that were off on Monday and so there's not much of the usual Tuesday bump?

Sunday, 12:10 pm screening, roughly 25% full, about 50 people. About 50% male, 50% female, but a lot of older patrons.

Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - lots of laughs from the older members of the audience on this one.
Young Adult
The Artist - lots of murmering
Michelle Williams does a fantastic job here, as does Kenneth Branaugh, but this is absolutely Michelle's movie. It's not exactly fast-paced, but it kept my attention. I felt I might have enjoyed it more if I had seen The Prince and the Showgirl before seeing this.

In this article on IMDb, they are quoting a $8.2 million opening weekend in Mexico for BD1.To compare, New Moon did $6.1 million opening weekend and Eclipse did $6.6 million.

I don't believe any of the Twilight films have been released in China. It's hard to get one of the 20 slots allotted to foreign movies in the country per year.They do release in Hong Kong every year, I think, though.Did the other Twilight movies get released in China? I think it would be dumb not to release it there, it's one of the biggest box office films and China is one of the biggest markets. A lot of wasted potential IMO.

Great result for Twilight, especially considering the book is so controversial/hated in the fandom. No idea why the Potter fans feel it's a competition.

This is not official, but...Twilight Poison (a well known Spanish/English Twi site) is reporting huge sales in Mexico. I guess Monday is a holiday there, and she is saying the entire country has basically sold out all screenings through Monday. I don't think that's possible, but I think it's an indication of a very strong three-day weekend in that nation.
Drives me nuts.
