Spatula, any word on how LUCY is doing today?
It's a bit higher than Salt's second friday at the same time of day.

How is it doing compared to Jersey Boys?
Jersey Boys is ahead by a bit at the same ToD but that film played very well in matinees and then collapsed in the evening so I wouldn't read much into that.
-
Guardians seems to be closing the The Winter Soldier gap. It's now only 10% behind Cap 2 at the same ToD.

We don't have anything for Get On Up do we?
As of now it's looking pretty good as far as these types of biopics go. It's ahead of Ray and about even with The Butler but I have a feeling this is more of an east coast film so we'll see how it plays out.

Is that including Thursday previews or excluding?
Excluding previews

I posted this in the wrong thread...
Very early matinee numbers on the East Coast are currently about 20% lower than Winter Soldier at the same ToD and about 15% ahead of Thor 2 at the same ToD.

Deadline reported 11.2M for Guardians from previews.
Wow. I missed it. Deadline reported quicker than the folks I work with.

Still no Thursday number for Guardians but very early matinee numbers on the East Coast are currently about 20% lower than Winter Soldier at the same ToD and about 15% ahead of Thor 2 at the same ToD.

How was the music?
Do you mean the diegetic music or the score? Most of the James Brown classics are represented in the film and they use his original vocals and arrangements.

Spatula, thoughts on LUCY 2nd wkend drop?
My money's on 54%. Similar first week drop to Bourne Legacy.

How are pre-sales for GOTG looking like compared to other SH movies?
Disney keeps that shit under lock and key unless they want it out there.

I was checking some theaters (because I need to know how Get On Up is doing) and GotG has already lots of tickets sold in many places. No idea if it is better or worse than others because I never checked those but it is impressive.
Get on Up is one of those movies that is very hard to call. I adored the movie though and I'd love it if it showed some awesome legs.

Lucy came in a bit higher than expected last night. I'd say around 5.34 for Monday. That's a 9% increase which is more than the first Tuesday for Salt.
Purge: Anarchy - 1.63 (+7%)

And HTTYD2?
0.43 (-44%)

What about Purge? Its 11-day total should be higher than its predecessor's.
Purge: Anarchy - 1.51 (-50%)

Apes - 3.9
Purge - 2.57
Planes - 2.08
Sex Tape - 1.51

Didn't the first Purge decrease on it's first Tuesday? If so that's really good for Anarchy.
Props to Universal for salvaging the franchise from the greatest depths imaginable.
Yes. The first Purge dropped almost 20% on its first Tuesday. This is a huge improvement.

It's puzzling but it's definitely happening. It's been gaining on Cap 2 since noon and as of 7pm Eastern, Guardians officially pulled ahead and sits about 5% above Cap. If the trend continues I'd say Rth is spot on.
