All this "loonie" talk brings back nightmares of Kal.Almost every loonie was in the 300m+ camp. That was pretty much a requirement for being a loony. It will come a good $50m shy of that now, if not even more.

Actually, since Iron Man 2's 5M+Si TASM was overestimated by $3 mio? is that the biggest overestimation since AOTC`s $5 mio?

Pretty sure that was the joke.Like me saying "Spiderman 2 had a bigger first Monday than TDK did" when it was on the 4th of July.Yes because those films have a six-day OW right?

Agreed, the 80's had good ones too, but was really more of a guilty pleasure decade.90's had the best cartoons period. Gargoyles, X-Men, Batman, Batman Beyond, Spiderman, Superman, Duck tales, Aladdin, Pinky and the Brain, and I could literally go on. Kids now days have absolutely no clue as to what is a good cartoon show.

They don't stop making money, of course. However, the amount they could make is significantly hampered when movies of similar genres appear early into their run.Take Hellboy 2 for example; debuted with 36M, dropped to 10M second weekend when TDK came out despite strong reviews.Had TDK not come out at that time, H2 probably could have pulled a 15M to 20M 2nd weekend. How many movies just stop making moneyAll together because of another movie?

Wow, those two are doing quite well given the circumstances.

Seth's got enough leverage now to make a 4th show for Fox Sunday's should the Simpsons ride off into the sunset.Ted can reach 200m and maybe make more than Brave, Madagascar 3 or Ice Age 4. Damn who would have thought it was going to have a chance at that before the summer.

The Dark Knight easily holds up better. A stronger villain and supporting cast, along with a less predictable story structure, make it stand out amongst other films of the genre.
Unpopular movie opinions.

Avengers was cliched with many contrived elements, Loki came off about as threatening as King Jeoffrey, and the battles just seemed like a dull rehash of Justice League Unlimited's Destroyer episode.
