I wouldn't rule out many DC hardcore fans skiping CW after the BvS war.
I'm one of them, before that I went to check every single Marvel movie. There are actually real people that do this?
What a life

Yup, bad rain here as well in OC. Off to the airport to catch a flight currently. Hopefully the flights are not delayed.
I know two of my friends who were planning on going to see CW tonight, will now try and see what Saturday is like instead.
But I think it'll still be raining here on Saturday too.

Im in Southern California, and it's raining really really hard down here...
I dont know if the weather is like this throughout the West Coast, but we normally are not fond of going places when it's raining, and it's raining pretty hard.

F4 3.3 Well, the drop isn't gonna be memorable at all. Just a run of the mill shitty second weekend drop
How do theater counts work? Is there an agreeement between theater and studio on how long theaters will carry their movies?
F4 is the only movie that has more than 4,000 theaters and actually added more this weekend.
Wouldn't theaters want to get rid of F4 as soon as possible?
-
So what's F4's theater count going to look like next weekend?
-
F4 10.5
MI5 8.1
Gift 4.2
Vacation 2.5
Ricki 2.35
Minions 2.15
Ant-Man 2.1
F4
10.5 Fri
7.8 Sat
6.4 Sun
$24.7 million OW?

RTH has been pretty accurate on big popcorn movies though. It's movies like "Saving Mr. Banks" that he gets a little off.
-
RTH shouldn't have thrown out $100 million, just said $99 to lessen the anticipation a bit.
-
Which one is the most up to date numbers?
Rth or Deadlines?

Hack reveals that Sony may have Fired Andrew Garfield from his Spider-Man Contract
Emails reveal Sony wants to Reboot Spider-Man AGAIN with Ryan Gosling in MindAndrew Garfield's comments about studio interference being responsible for the tepid response to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 have upset the wrong people, especially as he failed to appear at a Sony corporate dinner in July which would have seen him meet Sony CEO Kaz Hirai and a number of other executives.
As a result, he's been effectively fired as talk of a new Spider-Man began in October.
Jeff Robinov, former ex-Warner Bros VP now head of Sony's Studio 8 is trying to prevent a deal that would see Sony collaborate with Marvel on the future of the Spider-Man franchise.
In an email dated November 13 sent to Amy Pascal, Sony Pictures co-chairman, Robinov outlined a plan to reboot the entire Spider-Man franchise again with new leads in the vein similar to the long running James Bond films. Robinov also suggests possibly bringing on Stan Lee to invent a new character for Sony to exploit.
The latest "Sony Hack" also pertains to actor Ryan Gosling. Pascal is keen on offering the actor a number of parts and asks a colleague to ask the actor about starring in their planned Spider-Man spin-off "Sinister Six" possibly as their new Spider-Man.

IGN: Parent company Sony Japan not happy with Sony USA's handling of Spider-Man, may still want to renegotiate with Marvel
http://m.ign.com/articles/2014/12/10/more-on-the-sonymarvelspider-man-situation
Summary: Sony passed on a co-production arrangement where Marvel and Sony would split Spidey movie costs 60/40 (Marvel paying the 60% and getting creative control).
Sony Pictures’ parent company is none too pleased about the current situation. They view “Sony Pictures’s handling of the Spider-Man property as disappointing. … Sony Japan thinks the Marvel deal for Spider-Man is still on the table and they want to renegotiate as a return to quality.” The sources also say that “the 60/40 split” can be negotiated and “Sony Entertainment’s October hard-line stance of wanting creative control is now mostly moot in the eyes of the higher-ups.”
There's an online petition now for it too:

Assuming their latest Spidey spin-off movie "Sinister Six" in 2016 completely underwhelms like the TASM franchise...
Entertainment Weekly
Will Spidey be joining Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, and Black Widow on the big screen in the near future? No. But according to EW's sources, a few years from now that’s a possibility. (Official reps for the two studios both declined to comment.)
But that’s the extent of it: possibility. There are several variables that need to play out before anything concrete happens. Here are the facts as we hear them from several well-placed sources:

Jessica Drew can't be used by both?Who's Sony going to be using for their hopeless female "Spider-man" movie? She can't be used.
-
"A little bit of both!"Jk, it's great! $40 mil week is good indication it can do about $40 mil next weekend.

Disney always underestimates.
I think so, they underestimated Avengers by a whopping $7.1 million!RTH and Gitesh couldn't be that far especially when RTH came back last night and bumped his est to $33m.Disney always underestimates.
-
Disney's $94 million est seems like the lowest end, it would have to have about a 26% drop.Thinking more actual a be on the $95.5 at least.
-
Fri - 37.8Sat - 33.0Sun - is 24.2 (26% drop) possible?$95 mil?GOTG 32.7-33.5,Lucy 6.9,GOU 5.5,Herc 4.4,Apes 3.6,pla2 2.4,PA 2.3,AMWM 1.6,ST 1.5,ASIG 1.4,BH 1.1,AOE 940k

TASM was never going to be that shiny "new" toy, because rather than updating it, Sony instead took a Classic childhood toy you loved growing up, and raped it! Sony basically said the spidey you knew growing up wasn't real! Instead, here's the real more twilight version with more hair, now buy it dammit!Funny how everyone seems to crap on Spidey now because he is not the shiny new toy anymore, although back when Raimi opened part 2, people couldn't get enough of all things web slinger. I can totally see a couple of years down the road, when something new comes along, and MCU films have lost their luster and novelty, and people start gloating about every film —even non-comic-book movies—beating the latest MCU blockbuster.
-
If a film falls short of breaking its prequel domestically, but beats it OS, is that considered a flop? Sincere question. I'm really curious.I mean, if it does 88...it'll still hit 200.I mean...right?Right?Or is "Spider-flop" gonna become a thing round here?
-
And more 3D viewing ( I'm assuming since it's a 3d film) and it may not even make more than $35m? Ouchatm i might make 32-35 32-34, not sure right now it would get to 35 at high end will see only thing in its favor is more theatres its playing at but that doesn't always mean bigger BO
Weekend Thread | RTH pg 197...Mother's Day not kind to CW but very kind to JB and MD CW 42, JB 9,7, MDD 6.1,Hunts 1.48...puts CW at about 178M
