I just went to the movies, the theater was packed for Bob Marley.
Hell even my screening of Argylle had like 15 people which is still a lot more then I expected.
-
Also my god Dune 2 can't come soon enough for movie theatres.
-
No marketing and full price for a movie that's been out on streaming for 2 years. These releases weren't meant to get a lot of money but I still bet Disney was at least expecting a few million bucks. I'm still looking forward to seeing Turning Red on Tuesday.

Sony didn't even try marketing this film.

This is going to be another tank.
Dune can't get here soon enough for the theaters.

Calling it.
Somehow they are going to need raise money for that amusement park for the IF's and they put on a talent show meanwhile some villain is trying to destroy the talent show because he believes his IF abandoned him when in all reality that didn't happen and they will eventually make up and he will help save the talent show at the last moment. This will be the real prequel to Foster's.- 1

I really feel no buzz for this film but good word of mouth and a not so busy release schedule could help it.

Good for The Beekeeper for squeaking out a win.

I'm holding out hope that a screening comes to my neck of the woods. Don't see any listings on that right now

I'm excited for this movie to come out.
Mainly so the trailer will stop being in front of every god damn movie.

Trailers:
Ordinary Angels
Kung Fu Panda 4
Garfield Movie
Inside Out 2
I was the only person in the showing.
Also there was a bizarre trailer for a movie? webseries? about stolen makeup that told people to go to a website. It felt like a regular advertisement for said makeup that was oddly placed in the middle of the trailers.
I went to a showing at AMC. We had the same trailers except Ordinary Angels but we didn't get anything else. I'm going to assume it was your theater only that got that.

Anyone know when the reviews come out? I feel like it should be really soon.
I hope the reviews are good. I love Mean Girls but considering they didn't really start revealing the musical part till like less then a week ago, doesn't give me hope that this is more then just a cash grab. -

what exactly is it a parody of? Passion of Christ?
More of a parody of the genre.

I mean this film is not making its release date right? There's been no trailer or zero marketing unless Sony plans on doing this amazing all time blitz.
-
Got to watch this last night. It was AMC's Unseen (Mystery Movie).
I honestly don't know what audience this is for. It's not a bad film but I feel like it doesn't go far enough to be a true parody to really get the general audience, while not being enough to really get in the faith based audience.- 1

I gotta say, I feel A24 really screwed up a good portion of their backhalf releases. Having Dream Scenario basically get the shaft on the release schedule then not trying to build the buzz for Iron Claw. Along with a few other films they really should of considered and push. It feels like they just didn't plan for the Oscars at all this year.

I saw this trailer for the first time the other day and wow, I'm kinda disappointed it took so long to get on my radar. It looks really good and the reviews are high. What was the release strategy?

Movie lived up to the hype and considering how long this movies been out, i'm shocked I found a theater still playing it and that 6 other people showed up.- 1

Considering this movie comes out in less than a week, not a lot of advertisement. Reviews are mixed. Another George Clooney directed "meh" film. At least it's getting better reviews then Suburbicon

I just saw the trailer for this. The release date scares me but I feel January has released some decent films over the last few years. The idea alone has potential.
-
I have seen a little bit of this mentioning it's a musical but I think it was the first trailer. Outside of that and the poster that had a music symbol in the title, not much saying it's a musical. It's a January release date, and without saying it's a music to really separate itself from the original, this feels like a unnecessary remake.

Everyone's talking about the idea of California and Texas working together when they should be discussing Nick Offerman as President of the United States. All i'm picturing is this is some alt Parks and Rec universe where Leslie and Ron switched places.
