153.0 M MAN OF STEEL
115.6 M IRON MAN
Yeah boy!
IM did benefit from very small weekend drops due to weak competition and school being in for everyone. By the end of its second weekend IM had $177, MoS should be around $220. After that its really a legs game. I think MoS should be able to cruise to another $100+ after this weekend to pass IM's $318. Although there is a lot of competition for MoS, I do not think it is strong competition aside from MU/DM2. Still sticking to $340.

I do think Thursdays opening night #'s for WWZ will take a good hit because of game 7 now. MU wont do big business thursday night regardless because of the nature of the movie.

So what can we expect today for MoS? $9s?

modeling is suggesting potential for much bigger but im not sure about that atm
Wow wow wow. Thanks canada!

Think it has to do with the fact that that hand held cam style isn't conducive to a good 3D experience. Way to jittery and jumpy for 3D IMO. Yeah I saw a ton of 2D sell outs here as well last weekend, way way more than 3D. Seeing this in 2D IMAX this weekend, saw it in 2D last week and all I could think was thank goodness we didn't go for 3D (and my wife and I love 3D).

Flat tuesday perhaps? A $12 million tuesday would be amazing.

$12.6? Bah not has high as I was hoping but it was a monday and there's still schools on the EC that I know are still in until friday.

So it should be right around a $100 million week by end of weekend. Donating blood today to get a free movie ticket to go see MoS again on saturday, don't worry still contributing to the total with the wifes ticket. Will probably see it one more time after that in IMAX 2D right before it leaves for PR.

I don't agree with this one bit. All of these films on this list (sorry, most of these films) benefited from midnights. Midnights are basically gone now because of Aurora. So that 21 mill it made on Thurs should count or else none of these films can say that they can count their midnights either. So MOS did 128 mill for OW.
1000% agree

Fantastic! It was the perfect movie at the perfect time. Knocks that awful Alice and Wonderland down.

Its not going to drop like a rock next weekend, if anything Paramount should really be freaking out because this is more awful news for WWZ.

How's that IMAX number in comparison to other openings?

It is safe to say that a DC film universe is all but certain now?
Expect announcements at Comic Con next month during the panel.

Yeah, expect a big MoS jump friday and saturday. Lots of eyes will be on it and its bad news for WWZ's thursday night start.
