It's pointless to make final predictions for MCU films. OW you can predict but final tally rides on quality AM3 and GOTG3 had similar range opening yet finishing 150m apart due to the vast difference in quality.

Wait there’s something that’s gonna be bigger than the biplane stunt!?
To that question McQ said that he can't say much but hinted that they weren't satisfied with the underwater stunt they did in RN. So expecting something along that line, especially that a submarine is involved.

McQ said that only 40% is shot but the majority of the stunts are done, apart from one but that's the biggest one. So guess the rest is just the talky bits that shouldn't take too long. Then again we don't know how long the strike lasts.

I can't see SoF missing 200m. If it comes close PiF will push it over. I think it's outright stupid to reject a film because someone else's belief that has nothing to do with actual movie. That's just as bad of brainwashed sheep behaviour as believing in QAnon. Don't suppose all of you skipped JW, Mario and GotG due to Chris Pratt's beliefs?

Second viewing done. Such a fun film. Amazing direction, I can see Greata doing action in the future. Writing has some issues, it's not a great script but everything else (production, acting, music) makes up for it.

China wasn’t that hot for Fallout either. We are talking about a market that used to do crazy shit for western releases, like $392m for Fast 8. The last time that China kinda cared for M:I was back in 2015, and that ‘only’ grossed $139m there. The result for Dead Reckoning in China is similar to Fallout.
First of all I still don't get why people talk China box office up for Hollywood releases. Unless a film massively breaks out it hardly moves the needle, the net revenue is so much smaller than any overseas territory. FAST X will make less money than TLM. Not sure what are you smoking when you say FALLOUT wasn't hot in China. It was huge. DR simply didn't get a wide release and got pulled quickly.

TALK TO ME Friday #5 £185k, cume £265k incl. previews

SoF is definitely a major factor. Red states simply didn't turn up for MI7 as they usually do. In the UK, the 5 showings I have been, the crowd absolutely loved it, it's getting just as good WoM as FALLOUT, currently tracking ahead and holding up well against Barbenheimer. Can't fault quality. It's actually having a decent worldwide tally minus China, it's just looks bad due to the inflated covid budget. The domestic performance is the real bummer, no two ways about it.

BARBIE also breaks music records, 6 songs in the top 40 singles, 3 in the top 5. That has never happened.

What a shock: BARBIE £4.2m, OP £2.2m Friday 😃

$50M is dead. Needs really strong numbers on Saturday & Sunday to reach $45M.Unlikely, but mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger. Let's say it climbs to 14m. Then need 18.5m Sat and 17.5m Sunday. "I can perform this miracle!"

I like that + next to 13m for OP. Looks like a 45m weekend, but door slightly open for 50m. Maybe it can sneak past with an epic Sunday hold. "Amateurs seek the sun. Get eaten. Power stays in the shadows"

The Talk To Me showing I was in was busy too. Not packed, but a decent number of people.
You could hear a pin drop at the right moments too, think WOM will be good.
Watching it tomorrow. Ideally it opens £1m, but realistically it will do £0.6-0.7m and then hopefully WoM carries it from there.

So Paramount will now be re-releasing MI7 in IMAX screens Oct 6th, right?? 😁
TGM. 800m locked.

You don't need new releases until the end of the year.
September - TENET re-release
October - Inception re-release
November - Interstellar re-release
Thanksgiving - The Prestige IMAX treatment
December - Dunkirk re-release
Xmas - TDK trilogy re-release
Schedule sorted. Box office sorted.

If the demand goes on for OP it will keep IMAX showings. BB and GT might split shows, won't get all shows.

Saw BARBIE in a SuperScreen early evening. 95% full. Weekdays pretty much like weekends atm, so staying flat would be great.
-
In the UK (similar taste market) it is tracking ahead of FALLOUT, where there aren't that many IMAX screens and don't have to deal with SoF. WoM here is best in the franchise. It is idiotic to suggest getting rid of the guy who brought franchise best numbers and followed it up with 96% RT, A cinemascore and 8.0 IMDB rating. You won't get much better than that. DR2 will be fine.

I would imagine given there's not much out aside from Talk to Me, both Barbie and Barbenheimer will have small drops.
I suspect given TMNT's seven day opening, it'll dethrone Barbie or come second next week.
Wouldn't be so sure that TMNT takes the top spot.
-
Just amazing across the board. Barbenheimer is smashing it, ELEMENTAL way up from last week, MI7 strong holds as well.

Is it really overperforming that much OS compared to here?
It's doing what is was supposed to do. Some big markets it's tracking ahead of FALLOUT. Some markets it's not doing great. Barbenheimer is a global phenomenon. OP is selling out IMAX worldwide. So it got hit badly. If you take away China where it got limited release and got pulled quickly, it's doing FALLOUT numbers. The big disappointment is the domestic tally.
-
Amazing numbers. Even MI7 had a relatively decent hold.

Under Quantumania WW seems possible. Paramount man, they had a great slate and just whiffed on a lot of it.
Yes, it is cooked in the US. Show me your logic that it finishes under ANT-MAN though? Don't be ridiculous. It probably passes it in a week.
-
Most IMAX sites will give OP an extention. Maybe some will add odd shows for GRAN TURISMO, but the week after all OP again. "Now I am become the destroyer of projectors” lol It's weird that I saw TENET five times already within 10 days of its release, but only one viewing for OP. It's because once you've seen it in 70mm IMAX, it is tough to go back to any other format. That said, I'll probably catch it in 35mm some point.

You're cracking me up. That's the best one yet. What next? McQ is to blame for the covid lockdowns and the SAG strike?
