Is that a trick ?
Hahaha I'm actually just generally curious and I haven't worked out how to find it myself (if I can)
Also this weekend is going to be absolutely putrid. Everything will easily be sub $2m.
-
Do you have access to market share trends over the last few years, Rth? Hoyts vs Events vs Village?
-
That Fantastic Four drop though!
-
Trainwreck $2.11m
Mission Impossible $1.71m
Man from U.N.C.L.E. $1.63m
Fantastic Four $1.06m
Last Cab to Darwin $1.02m

Going to be a quiet weekend! Thursday numbers:
Trainwreck $0.29m - $7.60m
Man from U.N.D.L.E $0.23m
Mission Impossible $0.19m - $10.42m
Last Cab to Darwin $0.17m - $2.18m
Fantastic Four $0.12m - $3.44m
-
I've been hearing pretty fantastic buzz from Last Cab to Darwin. Do you guys think it could stay stable or even increase this weekend?
-
From my sites numbers we're looking at a #1 weekend for Trainwreck but only around $4-$4.5m depending on how much it surges tomorrow. Mission impossible and Fantastic Four will be battling for second.
I'll have actual numbers tomorrow!

Saturday numbers:
MI5: $1.9m ($3.8m)
Antman $0.7m ($12.1m)
Trainwreck $0.53m ($2.6m)
Paper Towns $0.26m ($4.1m)
MM $0.21m ($11.4mm)
Jian Bing Man ($0.2m)

-
So, with that MI5 Fri number how much can we expect for the weekend?
$4.2m-$4.5m
My guess would be:
$0.8m
$1m
$1.4m
$1.1m
Pretty good weather around Australia, except in Melbourne (which is nothing new), but no big major events this weekend except talk of Goodes and helicopters.

Friday numbers!
MI5 $1.0m ($1.8m)
Antman $330k ($11.4m)
Trainwreck (previews) $310k ($2.1m)
Magic Mike $170k ($11.2m)
Paper Towns $135m ($3.9m)

Presales tonight are already higher than yesterday's gross for us. Should be a bumper gross!
Also another round of trainwreck 'previews' which look like they'll do well!
-
As Rth said, MI5 with 770k. Antman 170k, MM with 90k, PT with 70k and Jian Bing Man with $62k at 8 locations and a amazing Thursday screen average of $8k!
So 50%+ drops for Antman and MM, around 40% for paper towns!

Though it's been pushed back to August 6th which makes no sense with previews two weeks before..
-
Should be an easy win for Antman this weekend. Going to be so quiet compared with the last few months..
-
Look at that screen average for Babajrangi! Melbourne dominated there with Village alone getting 40% of the gross!
-
Antman powered on but Magic Mike held on to the second spot yesterday above Paper Towns.
Thursday to Friday totals:
Antman ($2.2m) ($2.3m)
Magic Mike ($1.1m) ($7.5m)
Paper Towns ($0.83m) ($0.83m)
Inside Out ($0.64m) ($27.0m)
Minions ($0.57m) ($29.7m)
Strong result from Bajrangi Bhaijaan with $140k from 23 sites!

We can probably expect another $9m-$12m from each of them based on what MU and DM2 did in 2013. Should be just over $5m for the week.
-
So IO is going to be no.1 this weekend? Do you think it can top Minions in the end considering it's been holding better lately?
It'll still be pretty tight. Inside Out will probably have the better weekend IMO with the older crowd, but I don't see it clawing back much more than $300k this weekend. It should however hold better after the holidays than Minions, but its still too soon to see who will win overall.

-
$1.14m for Inside Out and $1.08m for Minions though! They should both easily win the weekend before they drop off to holiday cliff
-
$890k previews for Magic Mike! Huge result, though I see it falling harshly over the next few days.
-
Yeah ours are looking pretty big! Not pitch perfect level though.

Inside Out had its first win on Monday, with Minions just edging out again on Tuesday. Jurassic World powering on towards $50m, looking at $55m+
Monday:
Inside Out ($0.9m) ($17.9m)
Minions ($0.9m) ($20.8m)
Terminator ($0.6m) ($6.3m)
Jurassic World ($0.5m) ($44.9m)
Ted ($0.3n) ($8.6m)
Tuesday:
Minions ($1.6m) ($22.4m)
Inside Out ($1.5m) ($19.4m)
Jurassic world ($0.9m) ($45.8m)
Terminator ($0.9m) ($7.2m)
Ted 2 ($0.4m) ($9.0m)

It's too cold in Melbourne to do anything apart from seeing a movie

Nothing really changes over the holidays! We're looking at a drop for minions and inside out at my site today, not sure if it was the weather yesterday? But both minions and inside out should hopefully hit another $1m.

Trainwreck, Mission Impossible, Vacation should all be within the $1.1-$1.4m range. Southpaw was up there at my cinema but I believe it has a lower theatre count.
