Sub 35% drop is still really good. Especially against a juggernaut like TCU. I can’t remember many films which opened up to 50+ mil in September. Only a couple.

Loved it. Just a treat to watch on the big screen too. What stood out to me is the character development of Ethan’s team, you really care what happens to them. Tom Cruise still has it. I hope they keep making these films, the last three have just been great action films getting better and better as time goes by. Watch it iMax too. Worth the money as it is quite the experience. This is my number 1 movie of the year.

28.6 weekend, 333.3 cume for JW2
66.4 away from 400.
Needs around 2.3x this weekend more. JW1 had added 2.8x the 3rd wekeend to it's cume.
Despite sequelitis 2.3x for JW2 should be achievable as loss of premium screens to Ant2 and strong ID weekdays might have deflated the weekend a little. If it ges close it is likely to get a push too.
Not bad for a ‘disappointment!’ 😆
Campea had a video on this the other day.

Theater report- crowd was really into the movie. 1st post credit scene drew a lot of gasps.
Trailer reports.
Dumbo- Quiet, no reaction.
Nutcracker- Some chatter.
Mission Impossible 6- Little bit of chatter. People seem to be curious about it.
Robotic dog movie- can’t remember the name of it. No chatter.
Sandlot 25th anniversary- Quiet chuckles and some chatter.

Amatw. Pretty good. I recommend it for sure. Not as good as AIW for me, but better than BP

I lurk and don't post much, but this weekend, I have one question: what the hell is going on in here?
This is actually quite tame compared to other numbers threads.

Yes. Holland, Olsen and Brolin were the only ones who delivered good performances. The core Avengers crew and the recent additions were pretty much all bored out of their minds (especially RDJ and Cumberbatch) or were horrible (Pratt). The movie was a slog and Part II will only illustrate that point even more.
Zoe Saldana acted her freaking ass off in IW.
I don’t know why I’m even responding to you, but whatever.

People need to watch more movies if they think IW was anything more than mediocre. Too many of the actors phoned in their performances. Many scenes were redundant while others were flat out boring. Worse yet, Part II is guaranteed to make Part I a pointless waste of time. Raise your standards, people!
The only thing I’m raising is my middle finger.

I haven't really spared anytime or thought for this film I was just dropping by and leaving. Not an interesting weekend for me!
Back to letting Cameron fill my asshole

If JW2 did 150 mil ow off a 15 mil midnights, I definitely believe Antman crosses 100 mil ow with 13 mil midnights.

I also quite liked how there were times I wasn't laughing at the "jokes"/dialogue, but I was just laughing at the whole situation. I was smiling a lot. It just made me happy.
THAT HOOK. I went through the entire spectrum of emotions in like :30 seconds. I also love the very last last last thing they do in the second after credit scene. I was like, "Kevin/Marvel, I know you're deeply committed to your current #aesthetic, but really?" LOL.
Watch the spoilers please. I’m not seeing it till Saturday night.

Independence Day film 1996. One of my favorite movie going experience when I was a kid. I was 9 years old when it came out. I remember seeing long lines outside the old theater we used to go to in the west side of town where I grew up. It closed several years ago, but this place used to be place to go to see movies a long with an old AMC theater(still around, but just does dollar movies now). The first movie I truly remember having marketing all over the place. Still an enjoyable movie all these years later.
ID2 unfortunately was a giant toilet-clogger.

This is the 4th (?) Purge movie now? Or the 5th? Every single movie in the franchise has been bad. The first one is almost unwatchable and that's what launched the franchise. Has a franchise ever gotten this far based on concept alone?
Every horror franchise ever?
