It's really too bad that crawl is not going to do that while at the theater. It might be my favorite movie of the year so far. It is fucking intense and the alligator scenes are incredible. Does just the right amount of killing and some really good interpersonal relationships as well. This is definitely an old-school 80s kind of horror movie in my opinion.

It will have a long life outside the theatre. It's such a blast and the lead actress is phenomenal.

This definitely feels like the worst summer box office season in a loooonnnng time

Well yeah, an Aladdin remake we didn't need, a Toy Story sequel we didn't need, another Spider-Man movie we didn't need, an upcoming Lion King remake we don't need but people will force themselves to like, etc.

  3. Anything for Midsommar Thursday?

(It's nice that Spider-Man is doing well, I guess more speciality divisions like Fox 2000 bringing diverse quality films will shut down in favor of some dumbass in an insect suit swinging from buildings for the 800th time.)

I just saw Midsommar.  Holy shit.  Adored it, and blows all the mediocre movies we got in June out of the water.  Honestly think I liked it more than Hereditary, and I loved Hereditary.

Borrows from Wicker Man a little too freely but yeah, it shits all over that Marvel garbage.

Aladdin has basically become the real surprise winner of the summer. Looking headed for a $325M+ total at this point.

How is it a surprise? Mermaid, Beauty, Aladdin and Lion King are the most meaningful Disney nostalgia movies. Their live action remakes are surefire bets. No one grew up on/gives a fuck about Dumbo.
