Well, the special now being aired in front of Coco is a huge shock!

I doubt the short will be 30 minutes long, maybe it was going to be 20 minutes because it was being aired on TV but animating it was getting too hard so they decided to shorten it to 15 minutes and put it in front of Coco?

Also this is the whole Frozen Fever thing with Cinderella except 1000 times worst for the haters because it is invading a Pixar film! Ha!

    Trailer's description says it's 21m long.

  2. So it's Rataouille about music (the intro is exactly the same, with tv and everything) with a Trapped in another world trope. Pixar is completely out of fresh ideas :( And it looks like it's another formulaic "I ended up away from home; I must find a way back!" story. And of course there'll be some forced tear jerker about letting go of dead people or somesuch *yawn*. If there's no funny skeleton in this one, I'm skipping it.

  3. I'd be a shame if it wins an Oscar. Zootopia and Moana are much more superior movies in pretty much every aspect, from music to visuals. Is Kubo's stop-motion impressive? Yes, it is. Is it more impressive than Disney's groundbreaking CGI? No, and it's marginally above their previous work Boxtrolls and way below these two monsters. Kubo's story sucks profoundly, too. There's almost nothing it does that other nominess don't do better. As much as I'd like a stop-motion movie to win and get some mainstream attention, I don't think it's the right year for it to do so.

  4. The new Making Of documentary aired today and they confirmed F2 release date for "shortly after the Broadway Musical(2018)" We're probably looking at 2019 release date here.

They also announced Olaf's Frozen Adventure, a new holiday special (2017). 30-minute runtime, 4 new songs, old cast returning, spared no expense (c).

Imagine “Battlefield Earth” without the verve and you get this sludgy, tedious fantasy adventure, a fun-starved dud that’s not even unintentionally hilarious

The epic battle at the center of “Warcraft” isn’t the clash between humans and orcs. That’s just what takes up roughly two hours of screen time. The true conflict comes from filmmakers trying to tell a story with soul and struggling against the inherent ridiculousness of the commodity they’re working with.

The disney live action movies are usually weak, but their scores are super on point. Courage and Kindness is still one of my favorite tracks from last year.

Cinderella was easily my favorite movie from last year. And the score is one of the best I've ever heard. I'm still listening to it almost daily since release, it's that good.

I didn't expect much good from ATTLG though, so not surprised by reviews. It's probably a decent enough time, so maybe I'll give it a try on bluray.

I don't really understand why Hanks still does this. It's not like he needs the money.

Anyway if this is as bad as Angels & Demons then at least it'll be a film I can laugh at.

A&D is legit awesome. I really enjoy the movies and books, really looking forward to Inferno. Still salty they skipped Lost Symbol, though.

'Zootopia' Stampedes Across China to Record Box Office Results

    Quote

Exceptionally strong word of mouth and unusually buoyant March cinema attendance have boosted Disney’s Zootopia to a record-breaking opening weekend in China. The talking animal toon, which unleashed day-and-date with its North American release on Friday, March 4th, rustled up $23.7 million in the PRC, second among animated films only to Kung Fu Panda 3’s $52 million January debut.

Driven by sky-high audience ratings of 9.4 on review sites like Douban, Maoyan and Gewara, Zootopia (re-titled 疯狂动物城, or “Crazy Animal City”) scored the highest opening weekend for a non-sequel animated film in China’s movie history.  With its scorching box office momentum picking up over the weekend, the film should easily top $100 million at Chinese multiplexes.

Zootopia Makes A Great Debut In China, Russia; Sets New Records

In China, “Zootopia” received $24 million and more for the three-day weekend, which makes it the biggest Disney Animation or Pixar opening there. In India “Zootopia” also got its biggest opening. The film was appreciated even in other countries like Australia, South Africa and others.

“Zootopia” in Russia earned an estimated $7.9 million, representing the biggest Disney Animation or Pixar opening in the market ever. It stepped into the number one spot for the weekend.

The biggest role in all this is played by IMAX. With 355 IMAX screens advantage, it brought the total portion to $8.5 million. “Zootopia” creates sensation even in Latin America. It has opened up everywhere except in Brazil.
