Six more weekends. Should be at 208m after today. 14m week. Should be 260-280 by july 16 at this rate if the knowledge of the dvd doesn't slow it down. SA is 230 or 244. Either way it beat. How many weeks before DVD hits? Will it cross SA in dollars before that?

Big start to the day. Shows started at 900. This is the first 1h and include a lot of 10am shows, thats why its 24k, huge. We need to average 14k per hour until 1900 to get above OW. Numbers fade by 1/3or more from 1900 to 2200.16k per hour until 1900 gets us to 175k TMK1, 100k toho, 5.8m day, 8.5m weekend :D10:00*1 *24654 アナと雪の女王. 3.5x yesterdays start. bugs bunny is the best. Wise guy w a Brooklyn accentchildren crack up when ever I do daddy duckMel Blanc was a geniusFunny you mentioned the old Looney Toons, while channel flipping early this week I happened to land on the Toon Retro channel and started watching some really old Looney Tunes (they call them Looney Tunes Classic). I've started watching them regularly now and am surprised how many of them I've never seen. I started watching the dates in the credits and a lot of them are from the 50's, way before my time, although I did recognize a few episodes.
-
Have you watched Jaws, the god father, the excorcist, bridge over river quay, Lawrence of Arabia, dr zchivago, shawshenk redemption, glen Gary glen Ross, good fellas. If not, do so, timeless entertainment. Then ill give you a few more. Also, anything hitchcock or frank capra, Cary Grant or jimmy Stewart. The best toons out there are Looney toons shorts from the 40s and 50s. Funny for a kid or an adult, like pixar.Heh... I must admit my knowledge of movie quotes goes no further than Pirates of the Caribbean and Pixar.

I was dragged to see princess bride by a girlfriend. Had no idea it would be so funny and a well quoted movie.I say "thats inconcievable" all the time.Or when hung over. I feel "mostly dead"When a girlfriend wants her way andvit give up " as youuuuuu wish!"Im fighting lefted hand so that I dont win so easily. Ah! So am I.Beware of the R.O.U.Ss!Surrender! Very well, I accept! As she is about to commit suicide w a knife to the heart. "In a world short of perfect breasts it would be a shame to damage yours."I am afraid that google makes this far too easy...but its nice that you got some Princess Bride in there as well and damn... calling this run a rollercoaster is a bit of an understatement!

Or just knowledge of movies themselves.Name the movies. These are well known classicsFrankly my dear I dont give a damn.We need a bigger boatPlay it it again samLeave the gun and take the canolisGet busy living or get busy dying. No prisoners! (Actually quoted in animal house) a double movie quote.Fat lady is about to sing. I dont hear no fat lady!Is there any chance you would go out with me? About a million to 1. So you're saying I have a chance. Are you talking to me? Are you talking to me!?You think im funny? Like funny as in wierd? You mean funny like a clown?I am indigo montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die! That's not boxoffice history, it's knowledge of movie quotes.

the highest day was 116000 admissions for toho during GW w 10% more seats. ave tix price will be 11.50 instead of 13.50Edroger is saying this is as good or better as that day, 90-100k is possible for toho x 5(mrkt share) x $11.50= 5.75m would be the highest. Tohi has done 80k on a non holiday sunday. Im starting to believe it should do at least that based on the presales. 4.6m4.6 - 5.7m80 - 100k toho adm140 -175k TMK1 adm400 -500k total admIll post the 20m runsthere will be 33 updates. Well see if it can average 5000 per updateSo, how many admissions is it? And how is it in dollars? can we expect 5 million on sunday?
-
no worries. The point was that im keeping projections alive with a will to fight and my fingers crossed.Oh, then my mistake.

Son, I know my history quite well in fact as exemplified in this threadYou need to brush up on your movie history. Animal House is one of the funniest and most successful comedies of all time (top 5 adjusted). Its quoted frequently. Hint: the sentence was in quotation marks.Bluto: Hey! What's all this laying around stuff? Why are you all still laying around here for?Stork: What the hell are we supposed to do, ya moron? We're all expelled. There's nothing to fight for anymore.D-Day: [to Bluto] Let it go. War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.Bluto: What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!Otter: [to Boon] Germans?Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.Bluto: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough...[thinks hard of something to say]Bluto: The tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go!http://youtu.be/q7vtWB4owdEWatch the clip, get inspired dammit. This run is not over until we say its over! Who's with me? Write these bastards! We'll win no matter the cost of of many live!Write Bob Iger, Dave Hollis, corporate and Disney himself! Here is some history, he had himself Frozen so he could come back to life in the future. Maybe Anna will defrost him and he'll put a stop to the dvd release.I actually thought that was true since I was a kid in the 70s. Hard know what was urban legend or not before the internet. You really need to learn some history: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attack_on_Pearl_Harbor

Numbers trickling in now. Down 10% but it could get to down 8% with two late hours to go. evenings aren't what they used to be but the week may hold 100+%. we may get a surprise tomorrow.*1 *72132 アナと雪の女王*2 *31341 X-MEN:フューチャー&パスト*3 *19461 MONSTERZ モンスターズIt's down 8% from a deflated Saturday. It has to pick up in the evening to possibly remain close to a 7M weekend. Hard when late showings keep getting weaker and weaker.

thats what I was thinking.were going to need a 35% pop in admissions tomorrow over last sun to make up today's short fall and over come the discount to get to 7m.Today maybe 2.7mFor 4.3m tomorrow we need.Toho 70kTMK1 135kits possible w so many presale selloutsfor 4.8m sun 7.5m weekendtoho 78.4kTMK1 151kalso possible. Toho still has the seats to do 80+Could Saturday be deflated due to tomorrow's discount. Because it looks a bit disappointing.

spidey had 1000screens. In the US you can have4000 theaters, 10000 screens. You have HMC at 13m opening but thats just 1,000,000 admissions. Avengers at $9 p ticket and was 22m admissions. 7x per capitaIt seems there's significantly less theater capacity in Japan. Despite being a bit over 1/3rd the population of the US + Canada, it seems like the widest releases only get to about 1/6th the number of theaters, give or take. I believe TASM1 was an exception which somehow managed to get into 1000 theaters, but that's still under a fourth of the biggest DOM openings.
-
they dont have large opening weekends and their annual admissions are lower per capita than other countries.this a constant wave of WOM spreading to non movie goers who are spreading to others and they dont have the capacity to burn off 50m+ for one movie like they do in the US. It spreads out in a steady flow. Im sure repeat viewings play a part as well.So is there a reason Frozen seems to refuse to drop weekly? Is it same people just seeing it over and over again every week?

somebody needs to show and explain these numbers to disney. They have to have a rainman number cruncher that would have a light bulb moment.*Weekdays [ Mon-Friday ]
wk-6.....616m yen
wk-7.....610m yen
wk-10....644m yen
wk-11....614m yen
This Wk..620m-630m yen ( mon-thu actual... 533m yen ($5.2m) + 90-95m yen [Friday *est] )
The presales at a glance look like a weekend bump. Another weekend over 13m. There isnt another movie that has held like this in history when comparing the proper proportionality of opening weekend, weekly decline, population etc...

Hey thats a low blow, pun intended. Subers is an idiot, I cant help my self. I wrote a proper email to disney though it would be good if someone more eloquent than I wrote the distro guy. I suck at writing. Im a number cruncher.Who has access to varietyinsight.com ? Maybe someone can search for "Dave Hollis," Disney distribution exec's mentioned in this article. Seems that the website might have his contact information. Or someone might have other way to find his contact information?I messaged the consumer board of thewaltdisneycompany site, but I don't know how effective that may be. If some articulate one can email him personally (without a colorful language of "blowing" maybe a few exec minds can be changed.
