It does what it set out to do. I enjoyed it, and I saw it twice, contributing to the fantastic run it had in the UK. Stallone was very good as the multiple-personality villain, The Toymaker. He had a childish charm to his character, which is only right as this is a child's film. I loved Ricardo Montalban in this - hilarious.

I don't think I laughed once. It was ok. I never know with these films whether they're meant to be 'laugh out loud' spectacles or wherther they're just meant to be fun and entertaining movies for a Sunday afternoon. It fulfilled the latter for me, but it's not memorable.

A masterpiece in crime dramas. De Niro, Pacino, Kilmer, Sizemore, Voight, Judd, Portman, and even Trejo are all fantastic in this. Just fantastic. I miss the days when they made great movies like this. Elliot Goldenthal's soundtrack is perfect for the film, and especially the choice of track for the last scene. This really is an under-valued masterpiece.

Well clearly Goffe Bond is correct. The rest of you are just trying to make a sloppy defence for the movie because you personally enjoyed it whilst overlooking Goffe Bond's criticisms of it.

When I first watched it, I also overlooked them. But since reading an article on Cracked.com, I have since had the same view as Goffe Bond. He was "innocent" of a crime where he was quite obviously not innocent - everybody saw him kill those two wastes of space and injure that guard.

It is a movie, and it did provide enjoyment, but with movies comes a certain level of realism, especially courtroom dramas like this, and it failed on that note.

I used to grade this around a B, but now it gets a D+.

Keanu Reeves' best movie. I always forget it when I am doing Top lists, but it really is better than all of his other movies, possibly with an exception for The Matrix Revolutions, but that wasn't great because of Reeves, whereas Speed is. It's also great because of Hopper, the storyline and Bullock. Daniels is good too. It's one of the most intense and action-packed movies out there. Shame about the sequel.

I wasn't aware of this when it came out because I was too interested in watching Cliffhanger and Demolition Man on VHS, but this is a fantastic film. I got into it more when my brother got it on VHS a few years later, and it's such a great movie. The CGI and craziness of the story mix really well. It's such an adventure that can grasp the minds' of children and just keep them quiet for a few hours of escapism. It did for me.
