  1. Yeah. The drive in options near me were either Minions/JWD or TGM/JWD. No matter what you chose, you got Chris Pratt. Truly we live in the worst timeline

  4. That new Hunger Games movie will be very interesting to track. The nostalgia cycle for it could propel it to big numbers, but do people want to see a dystopian movie when real life basically feels like a dystopia?
  5. They seem gung-ho on keeping it in summer, but I think Indiana Jones would clean up big time as the big December tentpole that year. It would also give a lot of breathing room for what looks to be a super crowded summer.
  6. Deadline's Top 10 As an aside, I really hope people here check out Mr. Malcolm's List, because it's very nice and delightful. If you're a Bridgerton fan, you'll really enjoy this.
  7. Using domestic grosses to compare what remakes will be better feels super disingenuous and ignores the bigger picture. Sure Mermaid and Mulan adjust to the same, but outside of the fact Little Mermaid debuted at a time when Disney and their animated features were in a terrible state financially, Little Mermaid outclasses Mulan by all regards. It had better reviews than Mulan, performed way better on home video than Mulan, has a much greater theme park presence than Mulan, has likely sold way more merchandise compared to Mulan, and so on. Little Mermaid is and always has been a bigger deal than Mulan and using just box office is ignoring a lot of other reasons that shows why Little Mermaid is such a big deal and an iconic staple of the Disney Renaissance and why people are predicting big things for it.
  8. The issue with Little Mermaid is less live-action fatigue (people will gladly see anything that is a nostalgic toy commercial), but the Disney+ factor. Almost every Disney movie that's coming out these days and into the future will have to deal with the fact that people who would have gone to them in theaters will now likely wait a couple months until it's free to watch at home. Marvel and Avatar are the only two franchises that will probably be free from that factor, but who knows if that will be the case a couple years down the line?
  9. Dude, I'm not being negative. I'm not saying young people don't like going out to the movies. I'm just saying people are doing this TikTok trend and heading to the movies to shitpost and have some goofy fun. This is all because TikTokers are being silly and doing a joke, and that's how I view it as, not as people dying to get together to see a Minions movie., If you disagree, that's fine. But please stop putting words in my mouth.

  12. Wait...there's another season after this? I thought this was the last season, which is why they made these episodes super long. That's dumb!
