I mean, I watched to find out how much of a dumpster fire it actually was. I feel like that's what a large portion of those who watched did as well.

Dune is now 72.9% of Batman. Last Wednesday was 71.06%, the previous Wednesday was 69.1%. Still just about 2% per week. Would really help the crawl to $300 mil if it dropped like... 35% this weekend. That would put it at 73.8% on Sunday.
Literally right on. 73.85% as of Sunday. 72.3% last Sunday, so only a 1.55% increase. It's going to need this IMAX re-release for even an outside shot at $300 mil.
It's PROBABLY headed to $290 mil.

To be clear, I actually have seen this film already. My comments about the Purge film were hyperbolic of course, but the film really doesn’t have much to say politically. If anything, the war is set in America for shock value and to make it more relatable (and marketable) than setting it in a generic Middle Eastern country.
Honestly I'd say this is the point really. Would people really be politically affected by another war film set in another country? Or would they in their own country? People can be easily swayed by "propaganda" so placing the film in the US will do something to your brain in a "it could happen here" type of way. Whether or not it says anything specific politically is beside the point.

That Planet of the Apes Quorum number is wild.

I hope this is less X slasher, and more Pearl-y

Notice how Gunn never actually debunked Ultraman being in the movie.
Wait until Ultraman is revealed and everyone calls Gunn a liar 😂

Netflix would have spent that $30M for streaming only, now they got bonus $10M from theatrical along with marketing spend by Universal giving film awareness and now they can get good viewership when it streams.
$30 mil is an insane price to pay for streaming rights lmao

Not sure but may be Netflix has kept streaming rights and sold just theatrical rights. In that case no losers there.
That would put Netflix in the hole by $20 mil though.

Two teen ghosts work alongside a clairvoyant to solve mysteries for their supernatural clientele — until a powerful witch complicates their plans.
Starring: George Rexstrew, Jayden Revri, Kassius Nelson
This is TECHNICALLY a spinoff of DOOM PATROL (S3.03 Dead Patrol), but Max didn't proceed with it so when Netflix picked it up, they recast the main trio. But are keeping the Night Nurse character/actress.

Sandman fans rejoice, you have a bridge show
Pay attention to 0:58 in particular.

I’m not really a $300m believer at this point, but I do think if it gets close enough, they might pull an IMAX rerelease to try and push it over the line.
That's my hope, really.

will dune hit 300 million?
It's going to be extremely close. I'd lean towards yes right now, since competition is very light and its holds have been super impressive.

Cinephiles are going to be SICK of this movie before it releases. It's going to be very funny because it's going to be massive.

Dune has finally overtaken Oppenheimer in weekend holds. $11.4m 5th weekend for Dune vs $10.7m for Oppenheimer.
If it matched what Oppy did from now on... $297.15 mil

Yeah it’s all over the place. My kids spring break was 2 weeks ago for whatever reason.
I'd say most of the country has spring break in the middle/late portion of March. I'd imagine the only April spring breaks are in the cold portions of the country.

Dune was at 70.3% of Batman last Sunday. It's now at 72.35%. Still looking good to at least finish at 78%+ of Batman, which is about $288 mil.
