The tile is simpler than I thought it would be, but it still fits for a finale.
-
Saw this earlier today. The crowd seems to like it, having the appropriate reactions to just about everything. I think it's far better than F8.
-
So the first trailer for this might be next year.
-
I hope the animation is as good as this trailer looks. I love that they seem to want this to hit all ages of viewers.
-
I think doing 450 on a budget of more than 170 would still make it a flop. A small one, but still.

I can't find numbers, can someone pin them please?
But anyway, if Zilla is bombing, why would GvK do better with practically the same cast (that didn't draw audience first time around) and the same monster (that didn't draw audience either)? Just because Kong is in it? Kong Skull Island had SLP so unless GvK ups the star power, fat chance.
KotM paid for the sins of its predecessor. GvK will (ideally) reap the reward of KotM's good deeds.

People want a black and white world, they want villains to root against to feel better about themselves, they were raised by Hollywood movies so they don't know much about the shades of grey of life.
Which is something you often see in Disney movies, interestingly.

Me too, that's why I'm hoping for good legs atleast so that it benefits GvK.
I consider this to be a mild setback for the Monsterverse. GvK will be the movie to make or break it. I'm still optimistic about good legs for this one, too.

Although disappointment is more because i loved the movie. I mean when you Susie a movie, then despite you wanting it to succeed, you can understand why it is failing.
But in this case, i loved the movie and so it affects more.
For me, it's more of a franchise thing. I don't particularly like the movie, but I'm rooting for the Monsterverse in general to continue and flourish.

What it?
SRK, which apparently consistently disappoints at the box office

Me and @Charlie Jatinder being SRK fans have been facing disappointments since 2015.
What does it stand for? Half the time, I'm confused by acronyms in this forum.

Oh well. Like i said, i dont really care (though i would apprectiate it if you woud stop tagging me). Ill see the film for the fith and sixth time today and plan to end it with 25+ times.
Though i think i will take a long break from this site. The film seriously underperforming means certain people will laugh at it and i dont really need that.
Truth to be told, i do care a little. The past few days have kind of killed my excitement for box office numbers.
Yeah, this might be the first time I'm experiencing that feeling of disappointment at a movie's underperformance.

If KotM is the JL of the Monsterverse, I sure hope GvK will be its Aquaman.

Was it normal for K:SI to have such a high preview-to-OW ratio?
-
Not a bad start, but was hoping for more. Same ratio as JWFK would get it to 60m for the weekend.

Yet the other titans somehow make it to the coronation of the new King, Godzilla.
The other Titans weren't located on an island thousands of miles away from the mainland, so that's to be expected.

I mean it’s a underground tunnel system made mainly by an ancient advanced civilization. Makes sense to me.
1. Was it man-made? I get the impression that the entire tunnel system, including the currents, is natural. It's like living in a worldwide cave provided by mother nature.
2. Well, you're not wrong. I just think that 600 miles in 2 minutes is a bit of a stretch, so let's just leave that here.

Yeah it's because of that but even then that bit's so short and not even like...related to the plot. I'm sure that wasn't what the person was talking about.
It's the only thing I can think of that one might get confused about in relation to the characters 'teleporting'. Heck, even I find it unbelievable that they went 600 miles in a few minutes.
-
@Mulder There's a part where the characters departed from a base, then go on a submarine to revive Godzilla using a nuke. They get sucked through an underwater current of some sorts in the Hollow Earth and ended up 600 miles from their departure. They then go to the surface, which is clearly not the same location as the base. This can easily be explained by the fact that there's obviously multiple openings to the Hollow Earth system, but might feel like the characters went to a place they shouldn't be able to in such a short time.

It seems every monsters has a win except Mothra? Can she win against something?
She won against Rodan, who's the actual one without a win.

The scene where Mothra dies and her energy goes into Godzilla was flat-out from GMK
Related to that, I like how the sound of Burning Godzilla's nuclear pulse is basically Mothra's screech. Even the shape of the pulse vaguely looks like a winged insect.

With Rodan it was more that KG kicked his ass horribly and more bent him into submission then anything else.
Yeah, that's how I like to interpret his behavior. The personality of each Kaiju is fascinating. My personal favorite interaction is when Godzilla looks at Rodan and was like "She's dead because of you, you bastard" and Rodan just has nothing to say to that.

According to the Novel he actually was going to go help Godzilla, but Ghidorah woke up a bunch of Skullcrawlers.
Huh, that's something one wouldn't find out just by watching the movie. It's interesting to see which Titans are 'immune' to Ghidorah. We have 2 confirmed, plus Kong based on this, and I like to think Rodan would've been included in this list.
-
Can we talk about how Kong is one of the Titans that listened to Ghidorah's command but probably spent the whole movie swimming to the mainland and then going back after Ghidorah dies?

Jurassic World: Dominion | June 10 2022 | 6th Most Profitable Movie of 2023
in Box Office Discussion
Posted
It would be highly amusing if the JW trilogy outdoes the Disney Star Wars trilogy at the worldwide box office. Dominion would need to make 1.5 billion for that to happen, which I think is unlikely, but not impossible.
