Advertising was really poor here in the UK.

Now over $100 million in China! Great news! It's a shame it hasn't done as well in other international countries like the UK, Russia, Brazil etc. Promotion was really poor for this film!

What does 'close to flat' mean?

BOM have changed the international gross now:
Total Lifetime GrossesDomestic: $122,451,046 28.8% + Foreign: $302,475,465 71.2%
= Worldwide: $424,926,511 - 4

They've just added that lol, I just checked as I wrote it. That's wrong though, they've included Chinas gross but no-where elses? It should be $300.6 with China, so where's Mon/Tues grosses for the rest of the world?

Why hasn't there been an update on the international box office for Monday and Tuesday? It's done $13.5 million in China this week and probably about $4-5 million everywhere else.

I think BOM have got their numbers wrong as Screen Daily and Deadline have it's international gross at $286.2 million in their Monday update, so it should be $403 million.

Presales on XMA down 50%, but omorrow evening will play like a Friday and walk ups will be stronger.
Great, so $100 million should be locked? Is there any chance it will gross higher than DOFP at $116 million?

Presales are always just an indication..
You dont think a 50% drop is massive
I've seen much worse drops, I'm hoping it's not that bad, but just thinking it will do $3 million minimum. I based it on what everyone is saying about Warcraft dominating all the screens.
-
Are pre-sales important in China, I thought they were low for X Men until the movie came out and did better than expected numbers? I can't see it dropping massively, I'm thinking about 50% to $3 million. Do you think that's possible?

Any kind of idea on what X Men can do on Wednesday? If it does about $6 million on Tuesday any kind of idea what it could be on Wednesday?

£2.1m Wed+Thu in UK.
DoFP made £1.6m OD Thu and £9.14m 4 day. So Apocalypse is definitely running behind, which was to be expected. Still, it should have a decent weekend, somewhere between £7-8m ($10-12m) full opening.
What we have to remember though is that Wednesday has the 2 for 1 offer so that would have contributed to a lower gross on Wednesday. It should do a lot better from Fri-Sun.

I hope they push this movie forward to September like the last 4 films. I don't understand why they are releasing it in January 2017, when the September formula has worked the last 4 times. Anyway, i'm gonna do an estimation:
Domestic box office
$23 million opening
$50 million total
International box office
$225 million
Total
$275 million
What does everyone else think?

500 mil?!!? Jeez... Talk about overrated! I watched Maleficent 2 weeks ago because of all the fuss and I left the theater feeling so disappointed. This is basically a kids movie so why adults rave about it so much?!
I know what you mean, I'm a little bit disheartened that Maleficent will overtake X Men as the 2nd biggest film of the year. Totally undeserved in my opinion. I saw the film and thought it was ok but nothing amazing!

X-Men: Days Of Future Past has amassed $501.7m.

From Screen Daily:
X-Men: Days Of Future Past will cross $500m on Monday as $4.3m from 2,116 screens in 28 markets boosted the running total to $499.6m. Venezuela was the driver on a $916,000 number one hold for the third weekend that resulted in $6.5m after three sessions.

Well by the look of it, it should be at $706 million by Thursday, so by the end of the weekend it should be around $713-714 million.

Figure from Box Office:
$694,836,652
-
From Boxoffice.com:
X-Men: Days of Future Past reeled in another $11.3 million from 47 markets, including Venezuela's $1.7 million first place debut (just 2 percent behind Iron Man 3). Holdover markets Brazil ($1.3m, down only 34%), and the UK ($981K, down only 35%) lift the international cume to an impressive $477.3m. The global total is now $694.3 million.- 3

$14.8M after 8 days. Will die soon. Poor legs + Jack and OZ take away 3D screens.
Poor legs? I don't think so. The last one only made over $10 million in the first week and this has made over $14 million in a week so this is doing better. Yes, I understand that new 3D films are coming out, which is stupid to release them this close, but still I wouldn't call it poor legs. Especially since the movie has been all over the internet since September, and people have even seen the movie in Chinese stores being played for the public to see.
-
So if RE5 has made $14.8 million in 1 week, then why will it miss $20 million? Is it because of Oz, surely it won't lose loads of 3D screens will it? Because the way it's going, it has the potential to gross around $30 million.
-
Any idea on what the overall totals could be for when DH5 and RE5 closes?

Any kind of prediction for X Men?
